A small, independent movie theater just off of Pacific Avenue. Charming spot with a small lobby. You can order the usual sodas, but you can also get hot tea, Odwalla drinks and bottled lemonade. The popcorn has real butter. There are four small movie theaters in the Nick. They show movies that tend to be a bit more thought-provoking and... More

this is a tiny movie theater. If you like small theaters it is perfect for you. I like them a little bigger.

I love this movie theater. It's right in downtown S. Cruz. I can walk there from anyplace downtown or if I'm driving, I never have trouble finding a parking spot. I really like the selection of quality films---not just the big blockbusters. Indie films, a "thinking person's films" plus documentaries and animated films. Watch out! If you really want to... Nice theater. Multiple venues at all times. Quiet respectful audience. Nice place! Nice movies. A lot of the films they show will not be offered as mainstream attractions. so for the person who is not interested in gratuitous violence, over-the- sex, this is a great place to go. they have daytime and night time films.

The Nick is as real as its home base of Santa Cruz. Playing movies your hard pressed to find in the big glossy theaters, and oh so glad you saw it here, the snack bar is real too! Everything from the brownies to the tea to the popcorn with real butter is made at the theater or by a local.... More

Even though the Nick doesn't have all the bells and whistles that the Cinema 9 does; they make it work so well. Great affordable snacks including handmade caramel corn, and most importantly the best movie audiences (usually). The audience normally is attentive and stays in their seats for the credits, which makes up for the older seats. The Nick generally... More
