Beautiful way see Santa Cruz & had delight to see a shark & whale up close! The captain & crew members were amazing! We definitely appreciated them during the sail. As far a going over the sail for some couple thing we unfortunately had large group of people who didn’t give personal safe for covid wise, but the crew definitely intervened for the masks & six feet we appreciated a lot. If you’re looking have more privacy recommend to rent out the boat for it, it will be worth the money for great sail path they took us through! Will be returning with our own family for the experience!

We have been visiting Santa Cruz regularly for more than 15 years and have sailed on several different boats and gone on a few whale watches. This is the first time we have gone on the Chardonnay for a Sunset cruise. What a great time, great way to see Santa Cruz and a great boat to sail on! With C-19 restrictions, passenger load is reduced so there is plenty of distancing and comfortable seating. The crew is fun, enthusiastic and they love to sail! Our Captain, Todd is very experienced and fun to sail with. The local Pizza, micro beers and wines are excellent and plentiful. The service and the experience are top notch! I recommend this activity to first time visitors or Santa Cruz veterans alike. (As long as you don't suffer from sea sickness! This boat can move and will heel with a little wind. Everyone aboard loved it, but not worth being sick if are susceptible.)

I live in Santa Cruz and this is one activity I always recommend to visiting friends. The crew of the Chardonnay are always professional and attend to everyone's needs. The sailboat is magnificent and glides through the water with ease. Seeing the Santa Cruz coastline from the ocean's perspective, makes me appreciate where I live. I enjoy this activity and suggest it to anyone looking for an awesome adventure.

I never leave reviews, but the Chardonnay crew EARNED it. We went out for the Wednesday Night Regatta. This 2-hour trip included pizza, beer and wine. No person on the boat could have left wanting more. They were generous with their servings/pours and very attentive (all while also tending to the sails!). Loved cruising along with all the other sailboats in the bay and genuinely had a ton of fun. It helped that we dressed WARM (pants, sweaters, hats). SUCH an unique and romantic way to take in the beauty of Santa Cruz. DO IT!

Because of Covid, and all of the travel restrictions, and the fires suffocating the entire state of California my husband and I decided to have a low key 23rd wedding Anniversary. We rented an Air B&B in Santa Cruz (the only place we could find with decent air quality. We looked around for things to do while in Santa Cruz and came across Chardonnay sailing charters. We booked an evening wine cruise. Boy, we are glad that we did! It was an absolutely beautiful evening, the skies were blue, the sunset was amazing! The crew were friendly and accommodating. They kept the wine and pizza coming. Honestly, my husband and I had a fabulous time. They were very professional, maintained social distancing protocols, masks, ect , so no need to worry about that. Honestly, it was beautiful and relaxing and definitely a highlight during our trip. I highly recommend Chardonnay Sailing Charters. I actually want to do this again, hopefully sooner than later!

This was a great way to enjoy some pizza and wine, SAFELY :). The crew made the ride feel safe, kept our wine glasses full, and everyone kept a social distance/kept their masks on when required. 10/10 would recommend

there’s no reason we should have been able to board & set sail that evening because of the wind conditions. our pizza was cold, & everything was unsanitary. Midway, our boat went completely horizontal, nearly capsizing & my wife fell into the water/onto the guard rail which saved her from being taken away. she suffered a bruise on her right thigh + we had to endure the rest of the time soaked & cold as the temperature continued to drop with the sunset. we checked into our hotel at 4:00pm April 10th, & we were certain we were checking out for good by 6:20pm on the water.

This was our second time sailing with Chardonnay. The first time was unforgettable for us, and I can say the same about this most recent time.
There was a booking hiccup where my initial reservation was bough out and bumped for a private event, but Chardonnay went above and beyond to accommodate my reservation. We ended up going on the pizza party Chardonnay II sailing charter, and we really enjoyed it a lot.
The choice of adult beverages was great. Just by myself I had 5 refills of various alcohols, and 4 slices of delicious different types of pizza, so I was definitely satisfied and had my money’s worth.
And as always I can’t stress enough how awesome the captain and crew were to us! Captain Bobby was fun, energetic, professional, and great all around. The 2 female crew members were highly skilled with the sail and rope work, and of course their pro-level balance game with flawlessly pouring drinks and serving food all while barefooted and on a steep incline angle!
This 2nd experience was amazing, and we will definitely return for more sailing this summer and later this year!
If you want to do something fun, different, unforgettable, spend a couple hours on the water, take some awesome pics, and just cherish time with loved ones… definitely do go and give this establishment your business!
Thanks again for the fun and memories Chardonnay Sailing Charters!

We took our DIL and two young grandkids on the Tuesday BYOB sunset sail on the fabulous 70' racing sloop the Chardonnay! Only $174 (including tax) for a stupendous 2 hour cruise with an amazing crew and and a fantastic soundtrack! We saw a dolphin leaping, sea otters, sea lions, a seal, many pelicans and other wild-life, all while watching the ocean view of the harbor, the lighthouse, the Boardwalk, West Cliffs, the surfing spot, the pier (with tons of sea lions!), and Monterey Bay. Dinner was courtesy of KFC....The best money we ever spent, to show our Montana family members the area, and to remind us of how lucky we all are to be able to live in this paradise called Santa Cruz!

This is the second adventure I have taken my 8 year old on, this most recent time we also brought two other under 10 year olds and they had an absolute blast. The staff on the boat does an amazing job of getting the kids involved and explaining sailing to them. They are also fantastic at pointing out sea life and giving fun facts about life at sea. They do a wonderful job of catering to adults as well. We will absolutely be taking more cruises on the Chardonnay and if you want to see the Monterey Bay from a different angle, I recommend you take a cruise with them too!

If we book the Chardonnay for a burial at sea, what is the actual cost. I understand it is about $2,000 for an hour and half but do you also have to pay per quest?

$1000 covers it. What a beautiful day we had. Go for it.

Hi,
If you want to do something more active you should book a Team Building Charter on Chardonnay III or a Team Challenge Regatta with our sister company Pacific Sail. Let me know if you'd like to hear more about these two activities.
Best,
Lara
Would you please let me know the costs of the sailing trips and how long they are? Thanks very much!

Hi, husband and I went on the sunset cruise and paid $60 per person for 2 hours with all you can eat and drink. I think all of their cruises are about the same price but well worth it!
Do you have room today at the 4pm for 6 adults and what's is the cost per person please.
