We had a lot of fun watching the seals play and swim in the water. They would jump up on the bottom planks of the boardwalk. Some little shops to walk in and out off.

Underwhelmed with Santa Cruz. Much hyped Boardwalk failed to impress - comparable to a tacky UK seaside resort with expensive rides and heart threatening food. Parked adjacent to the boardwalk - $15 for the day - I think we stayed an hour...handy for our itinerary...More

Personally, thru the years, I have been to every amusement park in the area and for my money, the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk is the best. All the rides are amazing and there are rides for most age groups. Now that I'm a grandpa, I...More

Yes! You can definitely bring ice chests onto the beach or Boardwalk. The City of Santa Cruz has rules for the beach (no smoking, alcohol, dogs, fires, etc.) but ice chests are fine!

It didn't seem that long. It was less than an hour. And it was totally worth it.
