A nice beach

We have been visiting beaches along the California Coast. The beach was clean, not overcrowded, and the waves were calm. A nice family visit.

We drove to Santa Cruz beach from San Mateo with high hopes of a good beach experience after seeing forecast of 22 degrees temperature . Finding a parking place was a big task-it took 45 minutes to do that. The beach is not so big so they have made captive reservoir of water to have a canal type additional space... More

We enjoyed a nice long walk on this sandy beach. Clearly a spot for families, who no doubt will be lured to the rides and amusements along the boardwalk. Very pretty views.

We spent two full days at this beach in June. The weather was perfect and the water, though a bit cold was enjoyable for our kiddo's. We saw many sea lions swimming near by. Great family beach!

the beach is right next to the pier. the main attraction besides the ocean are the sea lions. the water is cold almost all year compared to the Atlantic but the sand is great and it never rains.

So many childhood memories, but don't remember it being so crowded. It is definitely not as clean, as I remember. In fact, on our last visit, there were signs posted confirming this.

This beach is crowded and has an awesome nature in the evenings. The beach as such is very busy with people all around and it's strictly advisable for those who like crowded beaches and also would like to have your foot drenched in the beach waters for a walk.

Santa Cruz is a great beach to just enjoy being on the coast and soak up some sunshine. Lots of games of volleyball going on while we were there so good to watch or take part in. Public toilets are handy to the beach. Lots of cafe's and restaurants handy too. A good place to chill and soak up the... More

There are finer beaches in Santa Cruz County, especially down in Aptos or La Selva. But hey, this is all part of the SC experience. In summer it can get crowded and trashy. Show some respect, and pick up after yourself!

Looked terrible with garbage everywhere. When the tide came in, full garbage cans went into the ocean. When I called guest services at the Boardwalk about the garbage they hung up on me. I asked the Boardwalk security to help me, but they gave me a citation banning me from the Boardwalk for a year.
