A must stop for any tourist interested in Santa Cruz Surf History. Not a very large museum with limited hours, but it has some great photos and surfboards on display. And, the location is a great place to see some surfers, provided the surf is up, and experience the diversified Santa Cruz culture. From here you can walk along West Cliff, catch the sea breezes, people watch as you walk along West Cliff, along with the bicyclists, runners, dog walkers, and many other visitors. Take in the ocean views, perhaps see some otters, whales, dolphins, or brown pelicans.

Short walk from Santa Cruz Beach and the wharf. Best place to watch local culture, very friendly people around sharing information about the city, surfers and history. All for free (voluntariness), but they accept tips ;) Great view, cant miss this place while visiting Santa Cruz.

Did not visit a lighthouse itself, dont know if it is possible or if there is a fee.

On a nice sunny day, this is a lovely place to visit. Beautiful setting overlooking the water (of course). Very tranquil and peaceful and a great place to walk. Easy parking (and it's free).

I also discussed this lighthouse in the review of West Cliff Drive. It wasn't open when we were there, but it is a nice lighthouse in a nice location, well maintained. Next time I will try to go there when it is open so I can see what they have in the museum.

It is not much to see or to do. Is just a place to get out from the car and relax your legs and take some pictures

Along West Cliff Drive, the scenery is amazing. This lighthouse along the way, is beautiful. Parking right in front, and beautiful coastal views. This lighthouse is home to a surfing museum, however there was a film crew the day we visited, so we were unable to go inside. From the outside though, there is much to explore, and historical information available. Beautiful place to visit and spend a few hours soaking in the coastal scenery and sunshine.

It's a beautiful spot to stretch your legs, watch the surfers at Steamer Lane, feel the cool breeze in your face and people watch. I live here and I love it!

to the ocean and his ashes are under some stones locked behind the cashier. It was a nice little museum that told the history of surfing from its beginnings to the present. I learned that it was the Hawaiians that brought this sport to the mainland! I walked here all the way from the mission..but it was worth it as I learn something from every historical gem I visit. A little gift shop and u can see the surfers if you step outside. However the bathrooms are across the street
