Went there for the Winterfest during the Holiday season. The roller coasters are awesome. The parks is so beautifully lit at night. Totally worth the trip.

Yes you should however we travel very light so I never bring more than a small waist pack with me. There is a water park so you can store bags in lockers there or larger bags at the front.
