Santa Barbara does it right with beaches! No hotels on this beach. Lots of open sand and water. Parking can get tricky on the street, but it was easier to use the city's pay lots in front of the beach.

There is parking, but not enough if there is a special event anywhere near b/c it's free. Lunchtime can be a bit busy but locals don't leave trash and some pick up after low-lifes who do. The ocean view is clear out to the islands if it's not overcast and there are some benches to watch the whales, dolphins, sea... More

One of the Largest and nicest parks in Santa Barbara, it overlooks the ocean for about 1/2 a mile. Perfect for BBQing, Picnicking, or walking the dog. One of the very best spots in Santa Barbara to view a early morning sunrise (from the east end overlooking Leadbetter beach and the Santa Barbara Harbor). Features beach access, bbq and picnic... We stayed in a holiday rental a block away from Shoreline Park, and it was great to have this on our doorstep. A cooling breeze, BBQs to use, families getting together, dog walkers, joggers, kite flyers, all life was there and yet it never felt busy. A great insight into Californian lifestyles!

If you do that, you can just sit wherever you like and take it all in. There are very well maintained stairs down to the ocean and beach. It is a great... More

Right on the ocean with a sidewalk and running/biking path. Nice restroom facilities and we walked it to the pier. A few homeless hanging out especially in the AM for the bathrooms, but who could blame them to pick such a great place.

After lunch we had an hour to kill before heading to an appointment. We read the reviews & decided this was a great active option to get the kiddos out of the car and moving. Easy to access. Gorgeous ocean backdrop. Picnic tables by the dozen if you're so inclined. The park is probably best for mobile children. And a... More

This park is beautiful and very nice one to picnic and relax. Highly recommend it. It is within bike riding distance of the hotels and inns along the beach.

Had fun running around here! It is next to the beach and very clean. Adequate parking and access to a bathroom are a plus.
