Beautiful views and nice strolls along the beach. There's a great paved path for bicycles, inline skates, etc. Even a busy skateboard park. The biggest drawback? Try keeping count of the homeless, panhandlers between East Beach and West Beach as you walk.

This is an excellent spot for a midday picnic, with a constant breeze from the ocean, expansive views in all directions, and surprisingly few people. We were 9 people and were able to get a picnic table beside a huge tree for some added shade. There's also a playground within the park, which seemed to be a hit with the... More

Sat in the shade and watched the world go by, reading a book, and completely relaxed. BBQ pits were a nice touch, a group of down and outs was not, however they never approached or made themselves a nuisance.

Lots of grass.jogging paths, kids playground access to the beach (during low tide). Great to pack a picnic and take the kids.

A morning jog, a dog walk, a toddler's playground or an ocean-view chat with a friend - Shoreline Park is the perfect place for all of these things. It's the real Santa Barbara experience.

If you want to walk, rollerblade, or run where the tourists aren't passing you in those horrible bicycle scooter things, then this is the park to go to. Best time to go is when California actually has greenery and isn't brown.

My kids grew up in this park, Perfect level walk. Kids learning to ride bike, great view, good BBQ pits. Parking can be a little problem. Steps to the beach at all ends. Perfect park with a playground

Santa Barbara does it right with beaches! No hotels on this beach. Lots of open sand and water. Parking can get tricky on the street, but it was easier to use the city's pay lots in front of the beach.
