Unique Plant Species, Magical Atmosphere
Jun 2021
Packed into this single square block are a plethora of excitements, especially for young children, dogs, and horticulturalists. Unique plant species abound, including trees from Australia, Africa, and Europe. There is a butterfly meadow that attracts monarchs, a running creek with stepping stones, and a massive Australian Fig tree that provides a shady area overlooking a duck pond with live turtles! There are multiple lawn spaces, and many benches in the shade, making for a parked alive with families having picknics on weekends.

Great Gardens
Jun 2021
A lovely park and garden to stroll in or have a picnic. Perfect for family gatherings or a quiet, contemplative moment. I was amazed at the plants.

Chill Park

Great park. Perfect for dates or if you're just hanging with your friends and family. The plant life was absolutely gorgeous. Great place to chill for a few hours.

Great memorial garden – whose Honoree’s last name is “Park” Believe it or not!

This is such a wonderful spot in Santa Barbara! A great place to relax, play with the kids, see the ducks/turtles(definitely do not feed them – not good for them), or just relax on a couple different areas of beautiful lawn. You can find sections that are quiet or active.

One of my favorite picnic spots super close to downtown to go food.😄

Right across the street is a kids park with wood structures and toys for the more active children!.

Sad State of Affairs at Downtown Park
Jul 2019 • Couples
After many years of driving by this park, we finally made it our destination this week for a picnic lunch. What a major disappointment; we left without eating after about 15-20 minutes of walking the grounds. I am appalled at the lack of care and attention evident everywhere we looked. Dead and dying lawns. Neglected plants and trees. Few benches. No tables. Overall impression is that the City does not care at all and makes no attempt to maintain this taxpayers' land. They are definitely a very poor custodian of what could be a downtown oasis.

Gem right downtown
Jul 2019 • Couples
This garden has a beautiful selection of interesting flowers and trees and a wonderful history of the community coming together to create an oasis. Also a great sensory garden! Definitely recommend a walk-through.

Such beauty in a gift.

This compact little park in the center of Santa Barbara is like a visual love letter sent by the late Alice Keck. As you walk the pathways you will instantly understand how much love, care and attention went into this gift.

A beautiful park for kids to run around and enjoy ducks and turtles
Jun 2019 • Family
My family with young children loves this park. There are many trails to explore. Little bridges and a large variety of large trees and local plants keep little ones entertained in a more peaceful natural environment (unlike the huge playground across the street).

Beautiful Botanical Garden in Santa Barbara
Mar 2019 • Solo
I lived in Santa Barbara for years and have visited regularly and have passed by this park so many times. Yesterday I was bicycling along Garden Street and decided to check it out. It is a beautiful and well kept botanical garden with so many species of plants, trees and flowers (and it is free!). If you are nearby, certainly go and have a look - I am glad I finally did.

Hidden Gem
Mar 2019 • Couples
This was an unexpected gem to explore in the heart of Santa Barbara. The small park is loaded with beautiful flowers and shrubs. There is a nice pond with many ducks and turtles. The park offers a relaxing atmosphere where you can sit on a bench, stroll the pathways lined with interesting flowers, or watch the ducks.
