My husband and I took our dog here every morning to exercise. He loved all the trails and especially loved running off lease. There are sections where a leash is required but everyone seems to keep it off. From the preserve, you can walk down to Cliff Street and then to the beach, which includes an off leash section. There was plenty of parking on the local streets.

As everyone else has stated, the views are lovely, and it's a nice place to go for a stroll if you're in the area. Would I make a special trip just to visit again? Probably not. It's a very short trail, and the unleashed dogs wasn't my cup of tea. But it's a very scenic spot and a nice quiet place to relax away from the crowds.

This is a great spot for walks by the ocean. The views on a clear day are gorgeous. The only reason for my 4/5 stars is that a lot of dogs are off leash in the preserve and I've seen a couple of fights because of this, however, I would still highly recommend.

If I were a local with a dog I would probably gives this place 5 stars. Looks like a great place to take your dog off-leash. As a tourist, it was a nice, easy walk with some great views but I was hoping the trail was longer.

For dog owners- a must do. For others without dogs, it’s Flat walk... a lot of dead trees. Best part was the dogs looked happy and the ocean was beautiful. Dusty and not very interesting.

Glad I found this place via Trip Advisor. Very quiet, lots of trail choices and lots of shade. Lots of areas to have your dog off-leash, made me wish I had a dog. Beautiful views of the ocean and coast.

Beautiful day, spectacular views. Our dog loved greeting the many other dogs. It's a nice walk and low stress. I found one of the two geocaches hidden there.

We enjoyed the DFP in May and had a beautiful afternoon to hike and enjoy the ocean view. The hike is fairly easy, a bit of an elevation increase, and be sure to wear comfortable & good walking shoes. Bravo to the family for preserving nature for all to enjoy.

What a beautiful, easy hike to an amazing cliff top view of the ocean. Dogs are allowed off leash so there were tons of dogs running around enjoying themselves or running with their owners. It was awesome! We met many friendly people and also just relaxed and enjoyed the view. The highlight was watching a paraglider suit up, run off the cliff and glide along the cliffs, then come back for a rest before taking off again. That was a first for us and we loved watching it! I would definitely return when back in gorgeous Santa Barbara.
