We came to the Arlington Theater to see a movie and were very impressed. Wonderful 1931 Mission style building used for movies and concerts. Large theater with a very unusual and interesting interior. We took the shuttle which runs up State Street to get here from the wharf area. Only costs 50 cents and stops at every block. This is... We came here for a comedy show. It was a major pain to find parking nearby. We were able to get inside right away. Long wait for food unless you were just getting popcorn or something like that. But it was cool that they had so many options. The show already started and one of the old lady ushers was... More

The Arlington, Santa Barbara's largest theater, was built in 1931 in the Mission Revival style. It seats 2,000 people and the auditorium resembles a Spanish village complete with a night sky and twinkling stars. The theater also features a Robert Morton pipe organ. It's a beautiful building inside and out, and the management will usually allow you to peak in... More

We're big fans of interesting architecture. So although we've never been inside of the building we thought we'd post a review. This building is definitely worth stopping by and taking a look at. Unless you plan on going inside it'll probably be a very short visit. Parking along the street is easy to find. We were here early in the... More

The Lewis Black show that we attended was not very good - the place was packed and has no air conditioning. It was difficult enjoy a great performance while sweating. It was so bad both Lewis and his opener made several comments. What is it with Santa Barbara - do they think being near the coast makes it unnecessary to... More

I have been to the Arlington many times and it is always a pleasure! The entranceway is welcoming, large, and has an old school vibe to it with its Spanish style decor. You know at that point that you are entering someplace special! The lobby is also large with a wide staircase leading to the balcony, a sitting room outside... More

This theater is something to experience for sure. It looks like its taken straight out of the Pirates of the Caribbean ride at Disneyland. Very cool. My family and I went to see the latest Mission Impossible movie. Impressed upon walking into the theater but..... when I went to sit down I was appalled at how filthy the seats were.... More

Awesome place to see a movie in an large, elegant, old style movie theatre. Stars twinkle in the ceiling, interior looks like an old spanish village. Lovely large theatre with a balcony. Awesome for movies, concerts, etc.

This theater is interesting, whether it be for a movie or for a live performance. It is decorated inside to mimic being outside under the stars. It is a grand theater to see a movie in...especially one where the audience excitement matters. I saw a Harry Potter premiere there about 10 years ago, and it was memorable. I've also seen... More
