The double surrey can be lots of fun if you have at least 4 people pedaling. Everyone needs to pull their weight or it will be more work than fun for one or few of the passengers. This was more work than I expected. One and done. I will opt to ride a bike next time.

I spoke to the Hilton about our experience with customer service at Wheel Fun rentals on the Hilton property and they informed me it was an outside 3rd party company. I hope I am reviewing in the correct place.

The rental of the surrey was great! I even saw the attendant sanitize the bikes. My complaint lies with their bad attitudes. I was here in Santa Barbara two weeks ago with a girlfriend and we borrowed cruiser bikes. The gal that helped us out was extremely rude and miserable. Then just yesterday my family and I rented a 6 person surrey and we found the young gentleman to be just as miserable and rude. You are in the business of customer service. I hope this review is helpful for the company as you may not be aware your employees at the Hilton are not doing your business justice.

This was really fun for my whole family (2 adults, 4 kids ages 3, 5, 9 and 11). We all for comfortably on a double surrey. Location was easy and convenient, price was good, staff was friendly and helpful. We booked for 2h and my kids wanted to do it again the next day. Highly recommend.

Helpful attendant quickly rented us two bikes for an hour so that we could go up and down the beach on the car-free bike path. Very convenient, very quick, no hassle. And we thoroughly enjoyed the ride for an hour on a pretty morning.

We really enjoyed our experience with this vendor. We rented ahead of time and they had our bikes ready to go when we arrived. We had to come back after 30 minutes because my kick stand was loose. They fixed it quickly, then added back that 30 minutes to our time. We enjoyed riding the entire Cabrillo trail, plus brunch at Chad’s. Plenty of time to do it all. Highly recommend!

So much fun! Peddling the Quad bike along the beach front on a beautiful day, best way to spend time on a sunny Sunday. Many laughs and mishaps. We met some nice folks on our ride, the only drawn back - no Ice cream shops along the way. We walked to McConnell’s after the ride.
5 stars to the staff at Wheels Fun!

Did a family bike ride, staff was great! Location was great right next to public parking garage(first 75 min free). Perfect for 60 min bike rental! Loved how all bikes are sanitized after return. Great activity for family

A fun way to see the whole Santa Barbara waterfront is to rent a surrey. A surrey is a four-wheel "bike" with a canopy and a steering wheel that seats either 4 people or 6 people. For the 6 people, you need to rent a double surrey. We were skeptical that 2 adults and 4 teenagers could fit in one, but we did. It was a little tight, but we were laughing so hard and enjoying ourselves so much as we rode along the 3 miles of waterfront, that we didn't mind it. Four of the six people are pedaling at any one time so you can move along at a good clip. It is work on the slight uphill sections so you'll need all four peddlers for that!
Wheel Fun Rentals has a few different places you can rent from along the waterfront. You can rent hourly or by the 1/2 day. When you rent by the hour, you pay for the first hour and the second hour is free. That is what we did, and that is more than enough time to ride along and enjoy the waterfront.
The reasons I like the surrey better than a bike are (1) the canopy - totally great to have on a sunny and hot day - and (2) it allows you to talk and laugh with your friends and family more easily than on individual bikes.
I highly recommend this for a fun couple of hours in Santa Barbara. Wheel Fun maintains their equipment and answers any questions you have before they send you off. The one hour price seemed a little steep to me at first, but I realized it was probably a little sticker shock for California prices, but when you consider the second hour is free, it was a reasonable price for us.

We came as the seven ages of man, from 5 to 82 years old. One of us has Parkinsons and cannot walk. We rented surreys and those whose feet could reach the pedals (including my brother-in-law with Parkinsons) chugged away with great gusto and everyone marvelled at the beaches, the architecture, the bikinis and the other zany tourists. What a treat! The waterfront walkways are paved and go on for many miles and the second hour is free, so you can see everything at whatever speed suits you.
