About
Make something beautiful: in our private glassblowing class for two with an item to take home. A stone's throw from Stearn's Wharf rests Saul Alcaraz's studio, Santa Barbara Art Glass, where you'll discover blown glass is functional art -- and that you're capable of creating a masterpiece.

I've been here a few times, creating different little pieces from the beginner's classes. I've done glassblowing a few times at other studios and the experience here is vastly different. It's a completely different school of thought where Saul trusts you to create glass from beginning to end. Maybe your piece doesn't look professional, but at least you did it nearly all by yourself (he does help you!) It's a fun place to experience a new art or work towards a newly found craft. Saul's talent and artistry is amazing - he's a one man show blowing glass! He's so nice and he has a lot of colors to choose from. If I lived closer, I would definitely come here often. Now every time I'm in Santa Barbara, I always think about including another session to the trip.

We attended Saul’s glass blowing class in Santa Barbara. It was an amazing experience - such an unusual and fun activity ! Saul did an excellent job teaching and guiding us through the art of making our own blown glass objects. My friend made a delicate bowl and I made a glass “bauble” to place in a large bowl with other objects. The furnace is very hot, so I recommend wearing lightweight clothing. There is also a shop with beautiful glass creations for sale. What an enjoyable afternoon!

OK, here's what you get....you learn a new skill; you meet and work with a genuine artist and craftsman; you take home your own glass creation; you laugh and learn your way through the whole experience. The couples glass blowing class will forever change the way we look at the miracle of glass. Saul and Gina and their boys are remarkable people and our lives are the better for having spent time with them in their art studio.

We took at class. This was so cool. Saul was so kind and patient. His own work is beautiful. I loved the spirit of the place. I felt at peace even though I was nervous about doing something out of my comfort zone.

OUTSTANDING ! We just completed a glass blowing class with Saul- 6 adults each made an object under the patient and humorous expert guidance of Saul. It’s an adrenaline rush, a great memory with a beautiful souvenir. In addition Saul treated us to a demonstration of making a glass fish - just amazing. What a fun way to spend an afternoon.

We bought a gift certificate for my husband to take the Beginning Glass Blowing Class. This was a last minute thing, and we were able to book the class right away for the following Saturday. Gina was very kind on the phone, and subsequent emails. We arrived a few minutes before the scheduled class time and Saul was just finishing up with the class before us. We were greeted with smiles and made to feel welcome from the moment we walked through the door. Saul and his assistants were very patient and explained everything in detail about the entire process. During the class they showed a step by step demonstration of what to do, and then with their help, my husband made a beautiful glass bowl. They were so encouraging and engaging it was a wonderful experience that was over too quickly. We will definitely be going back as a group!

A few days ago two adults and two teenagers visited Saul/Gina and their two sons at santa barbara art glass for a private glass blowing class. Saul is very experienced with glassblowing and is an incredible artist and designer. He showed us a sample of an item that we could make and said as long as we follow his detailed instructions we would be able to make our own creation out of glass. We had a wonderful time in his art studio.
Saul gave my two sons a gift which reminded them of something he’d given to us several years prior - it made my boys day - they were very touched by the generosity and kindness of this man. For a wonderful once-in-a-lifetime experience creating your own one-of-a-kind piece and you’re in the Santa Barbara area I highly recommend taking a class.
In additional Saul can custom make lighting and other glass decor and has a beautiful display of items for sale. Fantastic experience.

We went here for a work off-site. It was perfect! So interesting to see each of your team members in a fun & new environment. Saul makes the class fun. His comments and instruction help you leave with something you are proud of...even if it's a "one of a kind" piece of art. Would definitely recommend!!

Saul Alcaraz is a serious glass blower. He is also a very nice man. He is willing to talk and share his knowledge with those of us who do not know the intricacies of his craft, and his enthusiasm comes through loud and clear. We bought a small ornament for out Christmas tree, and will always remember this man with fondness.
