There's lots to see on this ride, plenty of eccentrics under the shade of the trees, skate kids and BMX bandits, mansions and surf bums' vans. It's flat and can be hot, but there's usually a breeze in the afternoon. Ride friendly!

Here's the thing, it's totally easy and accessible. You don't have to have a bike, you can rent one from multiple vendors. It's about as beautiful as can be. You can hit probably 10 other 5 star attractions while riding, including Stearn's Wharf, the Maritime Museum and the Zoo and it makes Santa Monica bike path look like a dump.... More

It was nice, but does cross several streets and goes on one side of the street for awhile and then to the other. OK if you want to take it slow and dodge lots of walkers, dogs and joggers.

this is a fun path to walk, jog or ride a bike on. It is nice to be close to the water but not walking in the sand. Lots of people out and about enjoying Santa Barbara.

Head north and your legs will be tested with a nice hill, eyes rewarded with a lovely view. Head south in the A.M. and a scenic sunrise illuminates some nice sculpture, a quaint pond, the outskirts of the zoo and the finish line of a small nature refuge directly across from Stella Mare restaurant - hopping with bunny rabbits, teeming... We rented mountain bikes and rode about an 18 mile loop. Pretty along ocean, but not whole route is scenic. Cars were careful and overall was a good ride.

This is a great bike path for all ages. There are a lot of bike rental companies so you don't need to bring your bike to enjoy it - you can easily rent one. The 4-6 seater bikes are awesome. The path is long, smooth and flat - and the ocean view can't be beat!!
