We went on the Caves and Coves Classic Tour on 12/30/15. Despite some delays in getting started on our tour, we had an amazing experience and would recommend it to anyone that is up for an island excursion. Our guides, Chuck & JD, were kind, encouraging, and enthusiastic. They really made the trip enjoyable for everyone - our group ranged... More

This is a fun outting for a family or group who is reasonably coordinated, adventurous and not upset to get wet or cold. I wouldn't recommend it for those who want to just sit back and be comfortable. The boat over from Ventura is your typical small ferry, perfectly fine, just don't be afraid to dress warmly and take dramamine... More

Great advice here, thanks for sharing. As an FYI for anyone reading this and wondering about skiffing to the island rather than unloading on the pier; the pier was damaged in a storm in mid December 2015 and is closed until the National Park Service has it inspected and repaired. Currently the way to the island is by small skiff... More

A trip to the Santa Barbara Chanel Islands is an adventure into another world in a sense. A chance to see crystal clear water, star fish, sea urchins, fish & if your lucky hundreds of Dolphins. This company does an excellent job starting at the dock greeting you, providing a delicious breakfast on the trip to the islands, outfitting you... More

These guys are the best! We've had a membership in the co-op for a long time to use SUPs and they are always as accommodating as can be. We recently arranged an Island kayak adventure for nine of us through CIO and I highly recommend them. Everything you need is taken care of. Guides were great. Food was great. CIO... More

Channel islands outfitters took great care of us, two amateur kayakers. They send you enough info ahead of time so you know what you need to bring and they provide things for you too (like an extra jacket to wear over the wetsuit, much appreciated). Our guide was J.D. and he was awesome--knew his stuff and made sure we were... More

Our guide, Ryan, was an awesome kayak instructor for beginners and was super knowledgeable about the best caves to explore in regards to the tides. His knowledge about the geography, wild life and local environmental concern's was enlightening. The kayaking itself was absolutely beautiful and is a must do if you're going to be spending any time in the Ventura... More

Just a pleasure! Well thought out day very comfortable and challenging too. Just the right amount of challenge for athletic folks who are late 50's - early 60's. Great, thick wetsuits are the secret in colder weather.

Such a cool experience. Each cave was like my own personal log ride adventure. The lunch was delicious. Our guide Chuck was amazing.
