My gf and I hit the museum on a Saturday. It was free admission day! Although it was gearing up for an exhibit changeover, it still offered a lot of interesting, and amazing art pieces. Well worth taking a few hours to wander through!

For its rather small size, the museum has a beautiful collection of paintings and sculptures. It is centrally located in downtown Santa Barbara and there is no admission charge.

You can visit the entire museum in under 2 hours. Their Asian artifacts are very special and well worth a visit. When we were there they had some paintings from the Armond Hammer collection of Impressionist art. Very beautiful.

The art museum is on the main shopping street of Santa Barbara, and it is a cool retreat from that hustle and bustle. It features classical sculpture and a range of paintings. I especially like the central gallery exhibit, which focuses on experiencing art from...More

We went to the museum to fill some time on a vacation during the rain soaked December of 2014. The museum turned out to be a nice diversion. It offers a very eclectic array of art and at the time we were there the temporary...More

When we visited the SB Museum of Art, some of the galleries were under renovation so we were only able to see the Asian collection and a special exhibit integrating some of the museum's collection and works from the Armand Hammer collection. For that reason...More

The museum was upfront about their current renovations ahead of their exhibition schedule in 2015 so the cost was half the usual $10 entry. That said they had a very good exhibition from the Armand Hammer museum in LA which had a few paintings from...More

Although the entrance fee was discounted we were disappointed to find most of the museum exhibits closed due to reconstruction. We had gone based on ads for a large Monet exhibit and got there to find only 2 Monet paintings on exhibit. Check before you...More
