The design inside is very beautiful to see and the clock tower you can climb up has good views. There is a free tour inside starting in the mural room where the pictures on the wall tell the story of the town starting with the Chumash native Indians. We walked through in 20 minutes and enjoyed it.

The Santa Barbara courthouse is a beautiful historic building. The views of the town and ocean from the top of the tower are spectacular! Parking is easy (at least on Tuesday). It's all free!

We live in Santa Barbara, with two small kids and regularly go to the Sunken Gardens of the courthouse to run around and play. There are fun places to hide and explore in a relatively safe environment. It is also fun to go to the top of the courthouse and see Santa Barbara from above.

Courthouse is worth of visit. It is one of the oldest buildings in the city. During our visit, the clock tower was closed.

We arrived a few minutes before the free docent tour of this beautiful building. What a great use of our time in Santa Barbara! The docent was informative, interesting, entertaining and helped us to appreciate the history of this incredible courthouse. Plus, we enjoyed all the stories behind much of the art and architecture. It is definitely worth the time.

Great 1929 mission style building to see with all types of architectural styles, paintings, and symbolism. You can walk through or do the daily free tour. Tour is detailed and about an hour long so not for kids. Tour covers a lot and is excellent if you are into history/architecture. Go to the top via elevator and check out the... More

Docents are excellent in presenting the history of the court house. Special treat was listening to the court house tower chimes and visiting the special clock room.

Great views of the city from the observation tower, my favorite way to start a visit to a new place. Great architecture and art within, and the grounds are beautiful and relaxing.

Built in 1876 it survived the big earthquake. Spanish revivalist architecture with large open gardens (mostly lawns), it is a must-see for people visiting Santa Barbara. Don't miss the Mural Room which you may visit even if a court is in session or if a private wedding is being held. Walk up or elevator to the clock tower for panoramic... More

Beautiful views from the rooftop. Amazing architectural details from Spain and on the 2nd floor an entire room with huge murals.
