This is an excellent opportunity to view Santa Barbara city, which is gorgeous with the Mountain View’s and ocean views and of course gorgeous city landscape. It’s free and also has elevators so almost anyone can access it. I would definitely recommend it. The courthouse...More

Who tours a courthouse? An interior designer who loves Spanish Colonial design and great history! Gorgeous building with beautiful art and tile.

We parked our car at the public parking at the front of the Courthouse. The parking is free for 75 minutes. We took the elevator to the tower floor. The ocean views and Mountain views are amazing. The old court room on the second floor...More

Best part was the 360 degree view of Santa Barbara from the top of the clock tower. Be sure to check out the mural room for a floor to ceiling mural of the history of Santa Barbara that covers all four walls.

I'll be honest, my husband wanted to visit here because it was free. But it was a beautiful building especially on the inside and more interesting than I expected.. Amazing to think it's still a working building.

We intended to take a guided tour but the guide didn't show up, so we just wandered around by ourselves. Beautiful and interesting building, and the view from above the clock tower is awesome.

What a great building! An architectural gem set in extensive, lush grounds just a block from State Street. Wander around at will, and don’t miss the views from the bell tower.

This should be on everyones list for things to do. After you have been through the entire building, go all the way to the top for a beautiful view of Santa Barbara, go down to the garden for a peaceful rest amongst the trees.

I can't remember for sure, but since it is a public building in use every day as a courthouse I am pretty sure it opens at least by 9 am.
