What an unplanned but awesome addition to our trip. We started seeing signs for a seal viewing area traveling along the PCH and decided to pull over. It felt like a special gift to see these animals in their own habitat and so up close. We could have watched them for hours. Of all the things encountered on this trip, this was the best and it was FREE!

I could have stayed here for ages watching the seals! There were so many of them on the beach...and some were in the water. It was so awesome watching them, whether they were sleeping, lumbering around, jousting, or flipping sand on themselves to help keep cool in the sun. There's a boardwalk and you get a great view of the seals from there. Volunteers were available to answer questions and provide info, which was much appreciated. Parking is free and admission is free.

A must stop...just to see these amazing animals. Just watch for a while...don't just look and leave...watch these guys...they have personalities....We watched them swim, lumber onto the sand and then sun themselves. These guys even give their skin shade by putting sand on themselves . Stay for a while and watch...

There is plenty of parking and lots of vantage spots along the cliff to view the elephant seals. They are truly spectacular! Many were play fighting with each other and many more were just resting on the beach. Delightful.
