This is a great beach for walking and rock hunting. The churning water leaves no seashell unbroken, but polishes the rocks like no other. I've seen jasper, agates, California jade, and of course the quartz that is the local version of Moonstone, all beautifully rounded and semi polished. If you prefer not to walk in the deep sandy, rocky beach... More

This beach offers beautiful sunsets but I wasn't happy with the beach itself. There were some stones but not rich in color. I've been to more beautiful spots.

It was so peaceful here - weather was just beautiful - not to mention the gravel on the beach is as pictured above. Wish we had more time there we only spent the one night and did not have much time to search for the rocks. It is amazing to see all the color gravel instead of sand - just... More

July, 2015. Went from Ventura to Hearst Castle on a day trip (6:30 AM to 10:30 PM, door to door). I wanted to stop here because I had visited it in my youth, back in the 1960's. It was a sunnier day than back then and the beach was very much like it had been, mostly pebbles with some sandy... More

Stayed at a motel across the road from the beach. Took an evening stroll and a beautiful morning walk along the boardwalk. Very relaxing and envigorating. Great way to start a morning drive along the coast.

Great beach to have the kiddos running around and searching for amazing rocks/gems while getting some energy out!

Beautiful views and rocks to see. Walk the wooden path and take it all in. The beach does have a lot of seaweed and bugs so not a great place to sun bathe. Could sift through the rocks for hours but for the sea flea things.

We are staying along Moonstone Drive and have taken many walks on the boardwalk. The views are incredible and the walk is an easy one. I highly recommend this if you are in Cambria.

If you're impressed by different colored rocks, then by all means, stop on by. Otherwise, it's a normal dusty, sandy beach with some pockets of semi-interesting rocks. Lots of kelp, too.

Love coming here. Very peaceful. Boardwalk is nice to walk along and the parts that we went to were clean.
