A beautiful dense forest here with trails to traverse...everything in the state parks here now compromised by wildfires, so if hiking is your expectation, best to check ahead. California state parks are awesome!

We camped at San Simeon State Park in our travel trailer. It's a 5 minute walk to the beach with cliffs, sand, rocks and driftwood. In the morning, we walked in the morning marine layer. In the afternoon we laid in the sun. There are 2 areas to camp. A larger area closer to the beach and a smaller more... More

This is a beautiful State Park in Central California on the coast. Although the area is very dry because of the drought, the trees are green and plentiful for shade, and there are many different types of campsites to choose from. We love this park, and will return. One star removed because the showers were closed.

This is a very nice campground with the exception of the porta-potties that are now in use in lieu of the flush toilets. The lack of showers made us cut our trip short; there's only so long one can go without a real shower. If the waters is running, I highly recommend this campground. Sites 98, 100, 86 and 38... More

Shower before you come, fill water tank before arriving. Convenient location. Recommend staying in Paso Robles instead.

This beach has one of the longest, yet 'less busy' pier of any we visited. There were maybe 4 locals fishing off of it, beautiful place!

The location is beautiful but this campground was very disappointing. When we arrived to our campsite there was trash from the previous campers. I noticed that the camp host do not clean the campsites or fire rings. I'm not sure what they do since there are no showers or bathrooms to clean. The trash bins had trash piled on the... More

No water, no showers, and very basic campsite that is well overpriced, probably the worst campsite I've been to in many months of travelling, the surrounding scenery is fabulous and the area is a must but from a campsite with better facilities

We enjoyed our picnic on the beach and a walk on the pier. It had a clean bathroom and good parking. Such a lovely view and quiet spaces.

The campsites are fine. They are semi-private with a fire pit and a table. There was plenty of room for our 33-ft RV and tow vehicle. The campground is nice, but believe the reviews when they say this is primitive. No water, no electric, no cell service. There are porta-potties (very clean). There are no showers. Some websites say there... More
