A special place on so many levels: great wines that bring me back time and time again. Location steps away from a special harbor with pier where you can see blue-green water and if you're lucky some sea life (whales!). Directly across from Hearst Castle which is an architectural masterpiece and after touring it, you'll need a rich refreshment! And... More

We were here Saturday night for a Winemaker's dinner. We had a wonderful time! The food was delicious and the wines were superb! They even had a band playing so we could dance. Everyone seated at our table was really nice and we had a great time!

We shared a wine tasting here for the second time...the last time being 5 years ago. Ryan helped us and knew everything about the delicious wines! The tasting was $15, but was waived if you made a purchase. We loved the Chardonnay, the Tempranillo, the Petite Surah, and the Cab Franc! Delicious 5 years ago, and receiving awards and accolades... We make a point of stopping here every time we are in the neighborhood. Great wine tasting, free if you buy a bottle. the restaurant connected has the best burgers and fries. They lose a star for their terrible single bathroom.

Whenever we visit Cambria, we always make a point of visiting Hearst Ranch. The wines are very good, the setting is wonderful, and the food served at the little café (Sebastian's) right there inside the tasting room, is excellent! Make sure you have plenty of time. You'll want to stay awhile. It's just that kind of place.

The first time I had Hearst wine was at the Paso Robles Wine and Olive festival. I was so impressed, we had to visit the winery. The person helping us was very friendly and helpful, and we left with some great bottles of wine. There's a very nice sandwich shop next to the winery (Sebastian's).

Historic setting down from Hearst Castle. All the beef is raised on the Hearst ranch. Food is delicious. Wine tasting opportunity at the bar. Don't forget to get a San Simeon postmark from the PO behind the wine bar.

This was a great unplanned stop. We simply wanted to check out the area and happened upon a wonderful winery, delightful staff, gifts, and a fun outdoor lunch. There is even a post office here if you need to get those last minute "wish you were here" postcards out . :-)

It's so rare when you come to a tasting room and really like ALL the wines! We found the Hearst Ranch wines to be delicious! The tasting room is across the street on Hwy 1 from the Hearst Castle. Don't get confused and go to the Visitor's Center at the Castle (like we did!). The tasting room itself is a... More
