What a wonderful place this is. There are numerous large birds & small animals that were brought here because they had been hurt and unable to live in the wild. There is a hospital on the premesice for this purpose. A large indoor room is like a classroom filled with books about wildlife and numerous realistic stuffed toy animals, plus live rodents, snakes, and other small animals that the staff talks about and allows students to touch. It is a very calm and natural setting and fostered learning and comfort for the children.

I wish this facility was much larger to share more of the animals they have assisted. This organization provides a valuable service and has a large number of volunteers.

Visited this rescue park today. It was very nice. Hidden away behind a jungle like entrance are wild animals that for one reason or another can’t be returned to the wild. Several birds and a few mammals, plus an educational area inside with a few live reptiles and taxonomy animals. A cute little gift shop to support the rescue. The staff were very nice and knowledgeable! Thank you for a hidden gem!

I've taken my children here lots of times and they have always enjoyed it. Later in life they both volunteered here. The staff, both paid and volunteers are compassionate and devoted. There are interesting convalescing animals here and something to learn each time. Just a nice slice of wildlife in the middle of suburbia. We would never leave without leaving a donation however it is not required. I once brought a baby woodpecker here that had been attacked by a blue jay and the vet and helpers revived it, gave it a clean bill of health and I was able to bring the little baby back home and set it back near its family.

These people are so helpful to saving our Wild Life. Helping them heal and get back to their habit. They also have classes for children to learn and respect Nature.

We were on vacation and staying in San Rafael so we decided to check this place out. While it is small, it was a pleasant way to spend an hour or two. This facility helps animals in the community and allows some to maintain residency.

I took an unconscious young crow to Wildcare after it flew into my rear window. They ex-rayed it, determined that the bones were too weak for the bird to recover, and euthanized it. They saved the poor thing from days or weeks of suffering.

Wildcare will take in any wild animal that is hurt or got lost in the urban jungle. After the critter is well and able to return to the wild it is released in an appropriate area. If it is unable to be released it will stay at Wildcare or another good home like a zoo.

Excellent cause! Hard to review as this place is definitely not a typical tourist spot. A lot of effort has been vested to maintain the place and the staff are all very friendly. The animals and birds are in small enclosures as they were mostly injured and not moving around as much. Hope they can continue to run the place and take care of the animals!

WildCare is a bird and animal rehabilitation center, but does a great job of education as well. Here's the perfect spot to bring your kids to learn about birds of prey up close and personal, and become more aware of animals native to the Marin area. Call ahead for feeding times, because that's when the volunteers have plenty of interaction with the birds and animals.
WildCare is like a little zoo with small animals. An hour spent here on a Saturday afternoon allowed me to see hawks fed by hand, a buzzard play with a cereal box, opossums eat dinner, a big tortoise enjoy a salad and an owl eat a mouse! The volunteers are great to take any question and give educated answers, and the kids love the experience of learning.
