You can tell he has a passion for making the best olive oil and shared many reasons why his product is set apart from others. The pride he has for making his oils is testament to them tasting like a passionate product.

    Absolutely Wonderful Experience
Our visit to San Miguel Olive Farm was the highlight of our annual girls' trip to Paso Robles. The four of us spent a delightful afternoon sharing a private tour and tasting. Richard was a gracious host and spent the afternoon explaining the history of the olive farm. He gave a thorough explanation of how the olives are harvested by hand. He never rushed us and answered all of our questions. We then went inside for an expanded tasting of his olive oils. He then paired them with delicious Italian vinegars. This award-winning olive oil is definitely worth the visit!

    San Miguel Olive Farm
We never intended to do a tour of an olive farm, but WOW!, we are SO happy Richard accommodated us. We fell in love with the taste of this precious olive oil and were able to meet Richard at the same time. We met him this morning at his beautiful farm. The weather was gorgeous and the view from his tasting room is stunning. Richard spent the time with us patiently and expertly explaining his pitfalls and triumphs of raising olives and making olive oil. Both of us being from farm families (not olives), it was quick to see his pride and pleasure in producing his amazing product. Fascinating beginning with a superior olive oil. We loved seeing the actual olives, checking the oil texture of the olive and learned to smell the ripeness of the olive. We had no idea of the varieties of olive trees, how they are pruned and sustained or the labor involved to bring these gems to fruition. We've gone on a variety of food production tours in the past, but this man and his graciousness and farm touched our hearts. We hope to be back. Thank you so very much!
Thank you for your comment. Farmer to farmer I am happy you enjoyed the tour. This was a high polyphenol morning.. Please try to make it for harvesting. We will be mailing out request forms for this event. Richard and Myrna San Miguel Olive Farm

    Spectacular olive oil
My wife and I loved our visit to San Miguel Olive Farm. Richard spent a good hour with us explaining how he started the farm, tends to the trees and makes this award-winning olive oil. We are now huge fans of San Miguel Olive Farm olive oil! it was an education to learn about the health benefits of this specific olive oil. And how to differentiate between good and amazing olive oil. This was worth the trip.
Thank you Tim. Every tour is special. Please come again and taste our new oils in November. It looks like we will have a bountiful harvest this season High polyphenol olive oil producer, Richard & Myrna San Miguel Olive Farm

YOU HAVE TO SCHEDULE A TOUR
We were traveling with friends in Paso Robles and our “guide friend” scheduled a tasting. We were greeted at the gate by Richard with a warm smile and his beautiful dog. We drove up to the house and after we parked, Richard sat with us under the umbrella and he began his presentation of how the property purchases came about. We were all mesmerized by his presentation. We then went to the tour of how the trees are maintained and got hands on. We then started our tasting. The information presented was enthralling. THIS IS A MUST. You won’t be sorry and you will definitely look at olive oil in a different and educated way. I can’t wait to go back next year.
Thank you for your comment, Another solid experience for people that would like to learn about olive oil. A little history goes a long way. Come again and taste our new oils. Richard & Myrna San Miguel Olive Farm

The best Olive oil I have ever tasted, with a delightful owner/host
We found San Miguel Olive Farm on an internet search of things to do in Paso Robles, California. I made a reservation for a free private tour. Richard was available the next day at just the right time. We spent several hours learning about the history of his farm, the process of growing, harvesting, milling and finally bottling olives. Then we went into the comfortable tasting room where Richard poured and explained the differences in his oils. We tasted three excellent olive oils and a few balsamic vinegars. The pride and passion Richard shares for his farm and products it produces are the highlights of the tour. It is a 15 minute drive north of Paso Robles to the small town of San Miguel, and then just a few miles down a well maintained un paved road. This is an outing I will take others on, and I highly recommend it.
Thank you for your review. A fun educational and tasting experience.. if you are available in late October or November you are invited to harvest with us. Our first bottle of Olio Nuovo has been reserved for you. This oil should be ready by the first week in November. Richard and Myrna San Miguel Olive Farm

We cannot give enough praise for our experience with Richard. What a fountain of knowledge, passion for his farm, and his generous gift of his time to tour, taste and learn about his olive farm. Absolutely fabulous and no hesitation in saying this is a must-do experience! Thank you Richard!

    Amazing experience
Richard is one of the most amazing people you will ever meet. His passion in perfecting olive oil production is unmatched. His knowledge is unparallel. We went as a family with our 2 kids and we all had a wonderful experience. He made sure the kids were part of it all and took time to explain the whole process to them. Besides the amazing tour we got to do a tasting of their oils. There are no words to describe how delicious they are. It was worth the stop just to meet this amazing couple who run the farm
Happy to hear this review. Your kids are the best tasters. Please keep watch for our harvest emails, sometimes they go to spam. Please try to make the trip for harvesting with us. This will be a lifetime experience. Thank you, Richard and Myrna San Miguel Olive Farm

The best part of visiting the San Miguel Olive Farm was that Richard, the owner, gave us a personal tour of the olive grove and a detailed history of the farm as well as a deep lesson in the fine points of olive oil. It was a rich and informative experience- to see how the passion of Richard and his wife has resulted in award winning olive oil and vinegars despite all of the challenges that come up in the farming business. I highly recommend a visit to spend time with these remarkable people and gain a deeper understanding of this amazing oil.

Richard and Myrna are kind, lovely people. Richard's tour and oral history of the farm was both entertaining and interesting, and the tasting was very informative and really cool! He made the tasting a fun time for my 8 yo son with interactive music and attention. We all left happy and already planning on coming back.
It's apparent that the olive farm is their passion, and the proof of their hard work isn't only in their delicious oils and vinegars, it's also in their awards!

Amazing experience with a full tour and history of olive oil farming and harvesting....As well as a tasting, all done by the owner. One of a kind experience! An unexpected Paso must do... highly recommend!

Decided to try something different than just wine tasting in Paso. Richard, the owner and a former jazz musician, schedules these visits personally and the old fashioned way by phone. Forget texting.
We had a dedicated 2 hour experience about the history, the farm, the agriculture and best of all, the tasting. It was very fascinating as he is a great host.
Richard did our tasting the same way the international competitions do it so you learn how to properly assess olive oils for quality. And, oh yes, their oils win international medals and it's easy to see why as you taste.
He has a large personality, is incredibly gregarious, informative and fun! You will end up buying many different bottles because they are so amazing. and they also sell out so very quickly so you probably won't be able to order online.
Note: there is no purchasing requirement or tasting fee. I think it's because he knows this amazing oil just sells itself. It sure did with us.

We've done olive ranch tours and tastings before but this was by far the best and most fun and educational. The best of all was that all the oils and vinegars were first class. Cannot recommend this highly enough.

This is an overdue and much deserved review. While staying at the Allegretto Vineyard Resort I met Richard Meisler at his San Miguel Olive Oil tasting table. First I must say Richard is a very gracious host and his olive oil is exceptional. I believe there is a simple explanation for its great taste! Richard invited me to his olive farm for a tour. Richard, a very patient man, explained in detail all the great care he takes in all of his olive trees. He even cares for the owls that take resident on his property. I truly believe the love and care he gives to each of those trees results into an amazing product! If you ever get a chance to visit the resort and Richard is there you will be in for a treat. Also if you have extra time look him up to see if you can get a tour of his beautiful olive farm!

Have you ever met someone completely passionate about their work that they make you question your work? Richard is the Olive oil man!

We planned a trip to see his farm on the last day of our trip. I sadly can't drink right now, so what else is there to do outside of family activities and wineries? Olive oil farming! It was a great way to end our time on the central coast.

Richard started by telling us about his story of becoming the Olive oil man. He helped us learn about Olive trees (we had brought a branch from our tree), the olives themselves, and the milling process.

He brought us into his tasting room, and we tried various oils and a vinegar, as wells as a few flavor pairings. We really have a new appreciation for not only olives, Olive oils, and farming, but Richard and smaller, non-commercial farmers. Every bottle is a labor of love crafted by him, his wife, and even his dog.

The visit felt like we had visited an uncle, and we did buy oils (he definitely doesn't ask you to, but after tasting then and knowing the process, you definitely want to.) We were going to send some as gifts, but it's hard to appreciate something as much unless you've experienced it. We experienced the San Miguel Olive Farm and we're better for it.

Thanks again Richard! We definitely will try to come up one October to experience the harvesting to complete the journey.

We were lucky enough to come across a chance to visit the San Miguel Olive Farm. When we showed up at the gate, Richard, the owner of the grove, was there waiting for us with his loyal dog Neika. He opened the gate and gave us a few of the olive branches he was cutting as we pulled up. Right away we knew it was going to be a great experience!

After a unique one on one with him learning first hand what it takes to produce the world’s best olive oils, we went inside to the tasting room and had a tasting of the different oils they produce. It was an amazing experience of what great olive oil should taste like. Their oils hit every mark! There was no pressure to buy anything, not from them. It was more about teaching us what to expect in a great olive oil.

You could see the pride in Richard’s eyes when he saw what he was telling you clicked. A truly passionate man, like a great friend you just met for the first time. It was truly an awesome experience with someone who is so dedicated to the art of their work and the result they strive for is always perfection.

Richard and his wife Myrna were very welcoming, friendly and above all, real nice people. Can’t wait to go back again!

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit with Richard at the San Miguel Olive Farm. With property in the area, we are always looking for fun new experiences when we have guests. Even though we love the local wineries, this was a great change of pace. Richard’s story about becoming an olive tree farmer is entertaining and inspiring. His story is fascinating and his passion for making the best olive oil possible is evident. After listening to Richard and seeing some of his precious trees, we were delighted with an oil and vinegar tasting. We enjoyed Richard’s amazing oil with a wonderful selection of balsamic vinegar added to it. I am so excited to receive my oil after his November harvest, and I absolutely recommend a visit to Richard’s olive tree farm!

Thank you for your comment Marjo, I remember we had a fun experience. Let's do it again soon. We are harvesting November 5 th, 6.30 a.m. till 1.30 p.m. Email us if you can attend the harvest and with how many people. In early December you can bring a 5 gallon pail and harvest all the leftover olives on the trees. There will be many left to pick. My wife and I were introduced to San Miguel Olive Farm through Richard's daughter, our airbnb host. Suffice to say that it was a huge stroke of luck because this was a highlight of our trip. Richard met us down at the gate, and upon arriving at his house (a short drive up a dirt road) he began explaining the history of the farm and all the work that goes into maintaining it. Besides being incredibly knowledgeable, Richard is super funny and a stand up guy. After giving us a tour of the farm, Richard led us through a tasting with several of his oils and vinegars. All of them were fantastic, and Richard leads it in a way that's educational without ever feeling condescending. We ended up buying a bottle of oil (the paradiso) and a bottle of red wine vinegar. It's on the pricier side, but trust me when I say it's worth every cent. This was a great experience and hopefully we'll make it back out to the farm some day.

They really are the best I've had: pure, organic, deeply flavorful products that make terrific salad dressings and marinades! I can't recommend this farm and its products highly enough!
