The Baileyana, Tangent & True Myth Tasting Room pours all of the Niven Family wines! Located in the beautiful Edna Valley, it is the result of almost 45 years of work by a single family, starting when Catharine and Jack Niven first planted grapes here in 1973, founding Paragon Vineyards. Today, the business is operated by second and third generation family members and has grown to include over 30 different wines under five separate labels: Baileyana, Tangent & True Myth are the three most important labels and we also produce smaller production volumes under the Zocker and Trenza labels. All these wines are poured at our tasting room located in the historic Independence Schoolhouse, built in 1909. The current building includes some of the original windows, siding and floorboards, preserving history while adding to a uniquely attractive setting for the tasting room and extensive gift shop. Surrounding the tasting room are expansive picnic areas with stunning views of our SIP-Certified Estate Paragon Vineyard. Two full-size Bocce courts are available for your use, or just sit and enjoy the views of the vines across the valley to the mountains. Wine is available by the glass or bottle to enjoy onsite together with a small selection of cheese, salami and crackers - or bring your own picnic and spend a couple of hours here!

Great location in an old school house surrounded by beautiful gardens. White wines ok, but they have a grea Pinot. Nice little gift shop in tasting room. They were very busy when we were there.

Love True Myth, both the white and red, and that was the reason why I added Baileyana to my agenda. Boy oh boy, was I ever disappointed in the rest of their line up.

This was my first time at Baileyana. I went with friends and family who said this is their favorite winery. I can see why. Knowledgeable friendly staff who was patient and explained each wine we tasted. We did the 5 tastings for $12 and ended...More

Judging by the other reviews, perhaps we caught them on a bad day? Inattentive folks behind the counter, seemed rather disinterested. We had a small group that were touring 5 wineries that day, each in our own vehicle, so we didn't arrive all at the...More

Stopped by for a wine tasting. Loved the old schoolhouse that was converted to a tasting room. Enjoyed the history of the building. Oh yeah, the wines were great too! loved the grounds, where you can relax or play Bocce Ball.

Very excellent wine in a quaint setting. Their chardonnay is particularly good. The staff are very passionate about their craft and equally friendly. Patrons who show interest and share that passion can be rewarded with selections not on the tasting list. Do not miss this...More

While visiting relatives over the Christmas Break, we decided to do some wine tasting. I was shocked when my sister-in-law said it was ok to bring the kids (ages 6-10). Sure enough the cute little schoolhouse on the hill housed the tasting room, there was...More

First off, the tasting room is quaint and fun. The people there to serve do a great job with helping you find options that fit your taste. Joanna did an awesome job of suggesting a Sav Blanc that wasn't on the tasting menu, that my...More
