Possibly for us this morning at 11:00 AM was that Sextant has a lovely deli and great sandwiches. We each had one and it comes with a side salad that tasted delightful. Our flights of wines went well with the meal and complemented their wine. A very old and historic property with several out buildings, and a large 3 bedroom, 1 bath furnished home you can rent, nightly if you desire to do so.

This is a quaint, unique wine tasting stop; nestled in the rolling pasture lands of old Price canyon road north of Arroyo Grande. The staff are very friendly and informative; the wine choices are very good and the ambiance is excellent! Where else can you enjoy sitting in the revamped Old Edna Valley post office with a nice glass of wine and a choice of delicious freshly prepared with local ingredients deli selection? The gift shop is great for tourists as is walking around the old outbuildings and attractive garden plantings. Don’t miss this must see wine tasting stop!

Great selection of wines. Friendly service. Cafe on site with tables outside. Wine tasting fee is waived if you become a member.

I honestly wasn't thinking about becoming a member just to save some $ on tastings, but they make enough varietals of good quality and reasonable price to entice me to join. Bonus is you keep the nice Crystal glasses from the tasting.

We were excited to get a reservation at Sextant Winea and Gourmet Deli. Arrived in plenty of time and we’re seated immediately. Never saw another soul-no one even acknowledged our presence for 30 minutes!! As a tasting room manager myself, I was horrified! I’d fire the staff and start over!

We tasted and joined the wine club because they had great reds to go with the expected whites. Plus they have a nice kitchen and had a great sandwich. One of the bigger tasting rooms with a nice retail area.

Went for lunch and enjoyed the wine. On a day of wine tasting you need a good place for lunch and this was a good one. We ordered paninis with salad and they were oh so good. The salad was so good that I requested the recipe for the salad dressing. We enjoyed a bottle of wine while we ate and sat in the tasting room. Well worth the stop.

My wife and I were pleasantly surprised by how friendly and knowledgeable the staff were at Sextant. It was around 11AM on a weekday, so the place was not crowded. We sat outside and took our time for a round of wine tasting with a slice of quiche. I'm relatively familiar with vines and wines in Paso Robles and Edna valley areas, so I was very pleased with my chat with a staff member at the tasting bar. He knew exactly how to answer my questions with details, maps, references, and even a few additional samplings not on the menu. Very nice experience. Good tasting rooms tend to get crowded so pick a time so you have a good time.

I see from other reviews that this gets crowded and noisy. Not too surprised as this is a great find. The server was super friendly, and realizing my dissapointment that the deli closed right when we arrived, he grabbed some sliced meat and cheese out of the deli fridge for me which was a hangry saver.

We particularly enjoyed the 2015 Wheelhouse Zinfandel of the wines we tasted.

We have been here three times and have enjoyed the wine tasting (we love their Rosé), the gift shop (we’ve made several purchase), the deli, the staff, and the surrounding old buildings. It can be crowded here but that has never kept us from enjoying ourselves. On one occasion there was live music, too. The drive to and around this location is very enjoyable.

My mom and I visited Sextant on a wine tasting tour, and it was definitely a favorite. We were able to enjoy our tastings outdoors on the rustic but lovely deck, and it was a nice surprise to learn that our $15 tasting included the stemless, etched wine glass, which has already been used several times since I got home! We enjoyed several delicious wines, but the rose was our favorite. We also had a terrific lunch from the cafe at Sextant, which was delicious and filling. I can't wait to go back!
