Named because it resembles a bishop's hat, the highest peak of the Morros range is heavily used by hikers and bicyclists. The climb to the top will take anywhere from one to two hours depending on your fitness level.

Bishop's Peak is a great hike for anyone in reasonable shape. It is mostly uphill the entire way, so take water with you. But you're rewarded at the top with beautiful views of SLO and Cal Poly. It can be crowded with college students, so...More

Hiked to the peak - Left from Patricia Dr at around 10AM on a Sunday morning. It was very warm - bring some water if you're not use to hiking in the heat. We encountered about 100 to 150 folks on the trail - so...More

Always fun to climb! Relatively easy, and the trails are almost always clear of brush and obstructions. The view from the top is completely worth it! You can see 360 degrees, and it's truly breathtaking.

A majority of the hike yes, however there are certain spots in the trail that get pretty narrow with a steep drop on one side. I would just be cautious not to slip while walking through mud.
hi, what is the time taken to complete the hikes and are there any shorter hikes to do with elder parents

The last time I made it to the top it took about 45 minutes. I was in my early 50's and needed to stop and catch my breath. You can hike the trails without going all the way to the top. There are still beautiful vistas.
