About
At Tolosa, we are true believers in the special terroir that is Edna Valley, nestled amongst the East-West running volcanic hills of San Luis Obispo County and the frontier for the most complex cool-climate varietals in California. Our Pinot Noirs and Chardonnays reflect the cold Pacific wind that sweeps down the coast and funnels into the valley, as well as the remarkable diversity of soil types: ingredients for nuanced and balanced wines of distinctive character. We combine traditional methods such as hand punch down and whole berry uncrushed fermentations with cutting edge technology in soil exploration and vineyard mapping to handcraft exceptional Pinot noirs and Chardonnays that are the purest expressions of Edna Valley. Visit us daily 11-6pm for exclusive limited release and barrel tasting flights. Reservations recommended. Contact our concierge at 805.782.0500.

Pinot Paradise!

Diverse and wide ranging Pinot selection from a master French style wine maker. Truly spectacular wine. The hospitality matches, be sure to ask for Johnny. He’s a legend. Don’t miss this vineyard which is a welcomed reprieve from the spicy Zin up in Paso. Just terrific.

I first noticed Tolosa’s 2009 Pinot Noir...

I do believe that it was the best wine I have ever had the pleasure to drink. I went to or called every retailer in the county tracking down a few bottles here and a case there. Is it my jaded memory or was it really that great. Still trying to find a vintage that I am willing to do that again for. Yesterday’s visit to Tolosa was a good event for us. The brother-in-law is a wine club member, so we took advantage of his discount to purchase a few bottles. Our favorite on this sunny and warm afternoon was a Chardonnay.

This was s first stop of the day and, boy, was it a good one. Justin took amazingly good care of us. Besides their Tolosa brand, they also have a bold red brand from Spain that was amazing. Very generous tasting pours, Our tasting included SEVEN wines. We were feeling NO pain when we left. This is a MUST TASTE winery.

The tasting room - meaning the outside tables - are open and welcoming. You must make a reservation, and you are sent an e-mail with the rules, including wearing a mask until you sit down, etc. This is a huge production facility, but the wines under the Tolosa name are limited. You can find one label at the grocery, but the tasting experience here is of their 1776 line, in the $50-70 per bottle range. $25 for a taste of five wines - but you can apply that fee to purchasing a bottle. Knowledgeable and friendly personal advisor. Nice outdoor setting, with huge umbrellas over the tables. Very close to SLO. Delightful experience on a lovely afternoon.

Highly recommend Tolosa. Their wines are delicious and our guide was very knowledgeable. We learned a lot about the area, climate, and how the wines are made.

Arrived at 5:10 pm. Was quickly escorted to tasting bar. On a Tuesday the venue was less than crowded. After pour 3 I stood at the bar while those outside were served the couple next to me was served and the guy who walked in to pick up his wine club Shipment were served. I went to the restroom
And returned,no one seemed
Interested in helping me and my assigned server seemed more interested in the group outside. I stayed an extra 10 minutes inside looking around and no one ever asked if they could help me. Was a shame as I planned to join the wine club and they were highly recommended by other wineries disappointed doesn’t begin to describe the experience

Gorgeous winery

Tasting area is great - outside tables, great service and wonderful wines. Doesn't get much better than this. They let you take your time - enjoy the scenery. My only suggestion is that they serve some nuts, popcorn - something to go with the wine. If they can, allow purchase of a cheese board - something to go with the wine. also you can bring your pet with you....

Must visit winery!

The customer service at this winery is impeccable. Last year we stopped in on a recommendation of an acquaintance and left as a member! We came back this year with an appointment for a free tasting in the members lounge and were greeted and quite frankly spoiled all afternoon by Karl. He was the perfect combination of a Denmark gentleman and a give-you-crap big brother! We laughed, had fantastic wines, were educated and he set up the most amazing dinner at a local resturant for dinner the next evening. Never have I ever had a 3 hour wine tasting that was so enjoyable...our ladies weekend getaway started off perfectly--being pampered, spoiled, and had a 5 star experience!

Side note: we came here with our husbands and did a tasting this Spring on the patio. We were seated at tables and served our tasting. Again, top notch service.

Addition: we couldn't finish our girls weekend without seeing Karl one last time...stopped on our way out of town and guess what!? Another 5 star experience!

Please make Talosa part of your wine tasting experience when in SLO you will not be disappointed.

We've been here a few times, typically after flying in from San Diego. A short Uber ride from the airport. Our host was a very friendly gentleman who allowed us to relax and enjoy our experience, though he did mention the wine club several times, but wasn't necessarily pushy. We opted in to the wine club and our tastings that day were free. We are disappointed that they don't serve wine by the glass. The patio area is nice and we like that it sits under the final approach course for the airport. The fountain's ambient sound adds to the soothing atmosphere.
