Our deep roots allow our guests unmatched access & privileges in SLO Coast, Paso Robles & Santa Barbara County wine regions. Let us take you off the beaten path and beyond the tasting bar, all tours are private & crafted around your tastes & preferences. You can direct us, we can direct you, we can collaborate. We know these wine regions like our own backyard, wait, it is our own backyard! We are female and locally owned, serving locals, leisure visitors & corporate groups alike. With a full/varied fleet, we can handle any size group. Specialty tours/services include; Distillery, Culinary, Hearst Castle, Castle/Wine, Zip n Sip, Private Winery Dinners and whatever we can concoct together.

Our wine tour was magnificent! Our guides were fabulous and very talented, and the driver and bus contributed to a very pleasant excursion in SLO Coast wine country. The sales team has been fantastic, especially Jill Tweedie, the company representative. She is very knowledgeable, gentle, dynamic and a great expert in gastronomic and cultural tourism in California. Thanks to Breakaway Tours we enjoyed a memorable experience!

My husband and I enjoyed a truly unforgettable wine tour of Valle de Guadalupe curated by Breakaway Tours. The planning and execution of the entire trip was exceptional. We received detailed itineraries, information about the region, a great book with maps, interesting facts and background of the Valle. The hotel, transportation and our guides were all fantastic! The restaurants were accommodating of my dietary needs and the food was outstanding. I highly recommend Breakaway Tours.

Breakaway Tours planned a wonderful afternoon of wine tasting for my group of 13 women. We loved traveling through the Edna Valley as well as sipping wine. Our gourmet box lunches were delicious!! The best part was having Charles as our driver. He enthusiastically told us about the history of the valley and went out of his way to show us around SLO. I highly recommend Breakaway Tours!!

A great day of wine tasting. Excellent choice of wineries. Driver was 5*. Highlight was the visit to Center of Effort - Catherine was very knowledgeable and the cheese board was great. The weather meant that we could sit and relax in the sunshine overlooking the vineyards.

Avoid this company at any cost.
They are basically an expensive taxi. They also call 11.15am to 3.00 pm a full day.
I attended with my wife and two other couples who where great when we started to run over the 3pm finish time which was supposed to be flexible we were rushed through the last tasting rooms.
All 4 rooms were within 10 miles of each other taxis would have cost $40 instead we foolishly paid $110 each person added to the experience we where charged 3 times ie $220 x 3 which they refused to return and blamed our card company..... Ohh we were also charged $30 at each vineyard.
Please avoid and look elsewhere.

My husband and I had a great day. Our driver Rich took us to several different wineries and his service was amazing. Our itinerary was tailored to the type of wines that we were interested in tasting. One of which Included a wonderful lunch. From the beginning when were scheduling this to the end of our tour it was a pleasant experience and I would highly recommend using Breakaway Tours.

We were surprised and delighted with our tour! The guide was friendly and we had the best experience on the holiday weekend. I would recommend Breakaway Tours to the novice and expert wine enthusiasts. The local knowledge and relationships with wine-makers and tasting rooms can not be matched on your own.

Simple an helpful booking by telephone. We also had Russ as guide and he was early picking us up which was great and he was generally superb - knowledgable and really listened to us and what we wanted to do. My wife and I would highly recommend this company and tour.

Truly the BEST day! Our driver Paul took exceptional care of all of our family members - both humans and the pups. We got to experience three distinct wineries, tasted so many varieties, had a superb lunch, enjoyed gorgeous weather and beautiful views. It was truly a memory-making experience. Some of the best money I’ve ever spent on a holiday. Truly worth it. Thanks Breakaway Tours for a fabulous day.

Our first trip to Paso Robles was truly amazing! It was my daughters 30th birthday and Jill and our driver Charles made it a total success! Jill coordinated all our wineries. She even got us into Daou last minute. Charles kept us on time throughout the day. I would definitely use Breakaway Tours again.

Hi Jacqueline, apologies for the delay, we've been updating our TripAdvisor pages and we're just now find this. Tasting fees vary winery to winery. In the San Luis Obispo region, they range from $10-20pp but are mostly waived with wine purchase. Their goal is to sell wine, if you buy some, great and they don't need to cover their costs. If you don't, it's fine but this way they do cover their costs. I hope this helps, please let me know if we can answer any further questions. You can also email us directly through our website. Hi Brenda, I see you're a mountain biker! I used to do more in the past but have plans to pick it back up more this summer and beyond... anyway. It depends on where you are staying and which wine region you are interested in touring.
We serve Paso Robles, San Luis Obispo (SLO) and Santa Barbara and have different programs in each. Our scheduled tour is the best value for 4 guests and runs $109-129pp in SLO & Paso, it starts just before 11am and is done by 3:30/4pm, visit 4 wineries and includes a picnic lunch. Our private charters available in all 3 regions can run however you wish. Fri-Sun has a 5hr min and Mon-Thur has a 3hr min. you don't have to tour that entire duration but the price remains the same. You can add lunch if you wish. Prices are determined by what you order if you will and depends on where you're staying and the drive time to/from the wine region.
