This is across the track fro the Amtrak! Many old artifacts like the antique bed, piano, table, and toys...IT consists of about 6 rooms..I really enjoyed the bathroom that still has the old tub with legs and feet. There is information about the area in the back dining room. And a collection of books for sale on the area. I... More

I generally if I have time to visit small history museums and this one is in acute home and I was glad and pleased to go by. Yes, I did donate and it is small but very informative and enjoyed the fact about San Juan Capistrano. Must visit.

This family owned all of South Orange County and sold a portion of their land to the Federal government to create Camp Pendelton. The O'Neill's are fascinating and this beautiful museum is on the same street as the local garden, little restaurants, and the train tracks. Worth the visit!

Like other reviewers noted, this is a tiny house. Despite that, it is packed full of interesting little bits about old SJC and living in California back in the day. Donate your $1 and soak in the oldness .

This historic home was moved to this site next to the train station and near several adobe structures of significance to San Juan Capistrano's past. Each room has several interesting displays and a framed account of the room's function and what is shown (an early "vacuum cleaner," for example, samples of early wallpaper, the first telephone that was installed in... It was a really tiny house, there wasn't much to see and it took probably less then 4 minutes to walk through it. On the bright side, its really close to the mission, so if you are in the area, why not?

Fun trip down the historical section of San Juan Capistrano. Great to see references applicable to the mission as well! Wish more people would visit and donate.

This was a fun way to start our day trip to the mission. My kids are young (7&9) and of course don't really get the past. This was a nice concrete way to show them how it was in the late 1800's. They enjoyed the small furniture and funny toilet. I enjoyed walking around and simply enjoying the antiques. Pretty... More
