If you like roses, this is the place

Great place to walk and enjoy the beauty of hundreds of varieties of roses. It's also a good place to people watch.

The Rose Garden is quite large and there are Hybrid T's, Grandiflora, English and new roses, and both tree and bush roses. There is a good variety of of color in the roses. Each type of rose has a clearly marked sign designating it's name - a boon if you are looking at what to plant in your own yard.... More

In my previous review, I suggested a picnic bottle of wine to enjoy from Zanotto's Mrkt. for a relaxing visit to this Municipal Rose Garden. My bad for not knowing alcohol is not permitted therein. I personally have never imbibed here. I had parked across from the park in front of a friends' house, bringing a birthday bottle of Chardonnay,... More

Roses have thorns nevertheless they are beautiful. There are two Rose Gardens in San Jose and believe it or not they are not too far from each other. Don't come from Nov to March, for sure there are no roses in the dead of winter. The roses are pruned throughout the year so sometimes there are sparse flowers. That is... More

this is a beautiful rose garden. We took a few good pics. Make sure you bring your camera. It also smells like roses. The entire area is very nice.

The Heritage Rose Garden is a beautiful garden which features hundreds of different types of roses in a very beautiful setting. We especially enjoy visiting the Garden in the late spring when thousands of roses are in full bloom.

A rainbow of colors and a bouquet of scents await you in May and June. Grab a deli sandwich at Zannotto's market a block away and spend a couple of hours picnic-ing with your family. The younger kids will love playing "hide-and-seek" between the colorful and fragrant rose beds. Entry is free and most weekends you can "people watch" the... More

Currently, about half the photos posted for the Heritage Rose Garden are actually of the Municipal Rose Garden located 2.5 miles down the street on Taylor/Naglee. I flagged them as posted for the wrong location, so if Tripadvisor is on top of things, this might no longer be the case by the time you read this. Both gardens are worth... More
