This gem is a wonderful day trip for anyone. Easy walking, and a step back in time. Sprawling lawns in the shade and gazebos to sit and contemplate what life was like long algo. Many times a year this park has something wonderful happening. History Park is often host to Makers Faires, history weekends, music festivals, art shows, master gardener... More

This is a fun place to go and very very interesting to those of us that are fascinated by local history.. The grounds are easy to walk and always open. With the little signs in front of each building, you can get the history even when the buildings are closed. My only wish is that it could be fully open... More

This is kind of a history museum which is part of the Kelley Park area. It contains many smaller buildings which are individual museums in themselves. Entrance to the History Park is free, but there is a $10 day parking fee for the Kelley Park area. The idea is really nice, and there are a number of interesting buildings here... More

A great visit for the entire family! This park has original houses, and businesses moved here from other areas of San Jose. There are also replicas of many local points of interest including the first Bank of Italy which became Bank of America, downtown's light tower, stables, a trolley, it goes on and on. There is O'Brien Ice Cream shop... More

I didn't understand that the buildings are only open certain days of the year. The stairway of the hotel was beautiful and especially the tin ceiling. The grounds are lovely and signage is good. The parking lot GoogleMaps took me to had the access to the park permanently closed so don't pay for parking on Senter street. I did go... More

This park has such potential but was such a disappointment. The city has a jewel and it just isn't maintained. It has some very interesting exhibits, but it is like a ghost town.

The History Park is a perfect venue for an afternoon out with the family - regardless of ages. Exhibits give a true insight into San Jose's past. Relaxed atmosphere gives plenty of time to browse and allow your imagination to take you back in time.

An interesting collection in a very small space so there's not much walking to do. Myself and a colleague popped in on a wet Sunday during a business trip and we spent over a hour chatting away in the print shop with the very knowledgeable docent, and my colleague discovered that one of the gentlemen in the vehicle shed was... History San Jose is the southern end of parkland bordered by Senter Road and Phelan, and there are several historic houses that have been moved there to make a little town. I'm glad the letterpress folks have found a home there for many years, and there are several community historical groups housed in the park's various venues. There are also... More

We went during the bike museum exhibit. We were charged $5/person but dads were free. We had the most fun in the school house playing school. The bike museum was interesting too. You can also learn about Vietnamese and Portuguese culture here as there are museums just for that.
