I found the vehicles in the trolly car shed particularly interesting. Especially the early electric cars. Were they developed at the same time as the first gas powered vehicles?

This place provides a look back at the history of San Jose before it became known as the tech giant it is today. On the small size but packed with great examples of local history.

City reps at the visitor's center in Kelley Park didn't even bother to tell us it was closed when we said we were going to see it! And they could not tell us about other nearby parks, either.

We got there late on a rainy day and so didn't get to experience the whole park, but the parts we did were fabulous. We saw an exhibit about trolleys and one about printing. In both exhibits the volunteer docents provided excellent context and hands...More

This park is really smartly realized. Many period houses and building are restored and open. There is also a period train to take around the park. This is a fun and accessible way to explore history.

Geez, it is on their website. But I do know it is open 7 days a week and is usually free, but if there is an event there is a charge.
