There are upscale shops to shop at. There are also great places to eat at where you can fulfill your hunger. It looks high end there.

Set in an old house, refurbished in a cool modern way yet warm and fun. Food and service were great, background music too - no “charanga” thank god! Will be back often. My friend and I have to observe different dietary restrictions and the staff...More

Santana Row is an upscale shopping mall with a broad selection of retail and many good restaurants. The architecture is what really sets this apart from other shopping experiences. Some of the elements of a quaint European city are imported many are well done creations...More

We visited on a rainy day and unfortunately all of the establishments require an outdoor entrance so it is not conducive to enjoying during inclement weather. We wanted to stroll and see the stores and dining establishments, but could not without getting really wet since...More

This time of year Santana Raw is special ‼️ The holidays decorations are awesome, they add to the shopping and excellent restaurants atmosphere. I highly recommend a walk in the plaza to see some of the figures on top of the stores (see my photos)....More

Santana Row is great to walk around, especially at night to see the Holiday decorations. The Row is kept very clean and tends to get busy so parking can be a problem at times. Most stores are high-end, high-priced, but there are a few that...More

This can be good or annoying. Depends on how busy it is. If you find a quieter day, its a good place to see many of the high end stores, one after another. But at busy times and especially in the holiday season this place...More

More headache than it is worth! Parking is a nightmare, shops and restaurants are over priced. Long waits for seating when you do want to eat. You rarely ever see anyone with shopping bags. I avoid this place the the plague!

Santana Row getting around (3 Replies)
I want to do some shopping in Santana Row, Valley Fair. Have never been. Once you are there, is it easy to get around/park/find things. I need to be efficient due to time. Really want to go to Orvis, Nordstroms, shop for bathing suit, sports shoes, flip flops, slippers. Maybe ice cream for food. Is there a rocking hair cut place? How is the Nordstroms at Valley Fair. I think the best Nordstroms I have been to are in Hillsdale, and San Francisco. Palo Alto is so-so

Parking will not be a problem - both places have garages. For Santana Row, there are 2 garages - I like to park at the garage with the entrance right on Winchester because it is larger and I always find good parking there. You can also walk between Santana Row and Valley Fair - Stevens Creek Blvd is busy, but there are crosswalks and traffic lights. I am not much of a shopper, so I can't help you with the shopping specifics though.

Best Cab Service & Some Walking Advice (9 Replies)
Will be staying on Santana Row for several days while attending the US Olympic Gymnastics Trials. I'd like to program the number for a reliable cab service into my phone and would appreciate opinions on the best one to use. I'd also like to know if the stretch between Santana Row and the HP Pavillion is safe for walking with my daughter. Your help is appreciated! :-)

I've got this cab service programmed into my phone: 650-279-1666. The only difference that I see, as compared with other cab companies in the area, is that it's about 5-10% cheaper, especially for airport pick-ups, etc. That is, from my few taxi rides here, they're all equally reliable. They all cost the same except for this one. The drivers are nice, usually south-central orientals. Walking is safe. Just watch out for inattentive drivers. There's plenty of them, who are texting away and...More

special occasion dinner for party of 10-San Jose/Santa Clara (7 Replies)
Any suggestions for a nice place to celebrate a special occasion on a Friday night for party of about 10, that takes reservations and has fairly easy access to parking. Steak and pasta entrees would be great. Looking at Maggiano's in Santana Row and Il Fornaio at the moment. Thanks!

Il Fornaio is a good choice as is Bella Mia - also downtown. Maggianos is ok, but their quality and service are spotty.
