Having been to the PaniqRoom experience in Las Vegas, I can agree that the theatrics in the San Jose location are not as dashing. However, the puzzles are super challenging! We did the murder mystery room. With 4 adults, we finished with barely 5mins to spare! Will definitely get your brain working and it's fun!
PLUS, big shout out to the staff! They are very sweet and accommodating. Bumped this to 5 stars just for them!

Our family of adults and children had a great time in the Wild West Room. The room is not scary and kid friendly. Although we were close, we didn't escape. Nonetheless, its worth a try. We will be back again.

When your children reach above a certain age, there are not as many family activities that are appealing to them. Enter Escape Room! It really got our gears moving and working together. The Insane asylum was a little scary for our 11 year old, but the overall experience was really great! We’ll definitely go back again to try the other rooms out!

My husband and I discovered PanIQ Room originally in Las Vegas and had an amazing time. Sad to say that our San Jose experience was not the same. The staff was very rude, and we were instructed not to pull on certain things because a lot of things inside the room were broken. When we got in we discovered, yes, a lot of items have been broken. Pieces of the floor had been ripped up, ceiling broken, photos ripped up, stickers and signs placed all over broken items. I think it's extremely sad that people have misused the room, however not sure why PanIQ room has not bothered to fix these items. In Vegas we were allowed to be inside the room with our own party unmasked. In San Jose we were told we needed to keep our mask on the entire time. We kept getting yelled at by the staff once we were inside to keep our masks on. It made the entire experience very negative. If we are in an isolated room with friends that have been vaccinated I don't understand why you can't enjoy the game inside without a mask. Staff seemed to be more focused on the masks then making sure we had an enjoyable experience.

This is our first time trying out this escape room and we as a group have been to many other escape rooms in the bay area. This place is more expensive comparing to others and the puzzles they have are much fewer. Some of the puzzles are merely mechanics that does not require brain work at all. Lack of technology and incompleteness of storyline. I have to say this is the WORST escape room we have been to. Dont waste your money here.

Great place for lots o fun. The Game master was super helpful and we needed some hints. The clues were challenging and very interesting. We were able to solve the clues and escape the room. We tried the Wild West with our family. Tabby was very friendly and patiently took our pictures and answered our questions after we were done. Will definitely come back here for more.

I was visiting a friend in San Jose and we were catching up. We thought it would be a fun way to spend an hour. Oh my gosh, it was so great. We had to use both sides of our brains and true teamwork (plus some hints!!) to get out with only a few seconds to spare.

I'm a seasoned escape room player, having played more than 20 rooms. That said, I don't enjoy rooms because of their sheer difficulty - I like the blend of challenge, fun, and seamlessness between theme and riddles. For example, I might find difficult to solve a second grade equation, but that doesn't mean it would have its place in an escape room. With that being said, I enjoyed PanIQ's room Perfect Crime, loosely inspired in an Agatha Christie mystery - but think they have a lot of room for improvement.
Pros:
- Nicely decorated room, quality materials: I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the components and how beautifully decorated the room was
- Fun motif: Loved the murder mystery theme!
- Fun game: All in all, we had a good time, which is always a plus.
Cons:
- Location. The guiding email said there would be signs guiding was, and there weren't - arrive at least 20min earlier to find the spot. They do say that on the email, and we were late.
- Difficulty of the room: if Perfect Crime is their hardest room, I think the other rooms might be too easy - my group came out with 1min to spare, but we were deducted 6 min due to our lateness. The staff member said 40% of people come out, with seems very high to me - in comparison, San Jose's Omescape hardest escape room has an escape rate of 20%.
- Riddles: there were some really nice riddles and we had to come together to solve them. However, overall the riddles were not tied to the story and seemed more like brainteasers than an actual scavenger hunt, or tied to the story in particular.
- No story: The room is themed after a murder, but you're never really told anything before the start of the game, so it's hard to be invested in the story.
Pet peeves (not really cons, but would've been nice to have)
- The staff mentioned he had never played an escape room, which sounded kinda weird to me.
- We were late by 2min, and due to the explanation lost 4 more minutes. We were not informed the time would be deducted from the game, and due to their location being hard to find, I think it would be nice of them to be gracious and have a tolerance. However, I do realize we were late.
Conclusion:
PanIQ is fun, but it could benefit from more story driven riddles, better customer support and focus and a harder room. It's a cool place to check out, but for a better experience your best bet is Omescape - which is also located in San Jose. If they're all booked, go to PanIQ - you'll have a good time :)

Better if you have several people. But still fun and the puzzles were interesting. We didn’t solve it. Ran out of time

Game master was super helpful and nice with the hints. There were many rooms/levels to go through. Loved the puzzles and decor!
