San Clemente is a beautiful town that is built on the hill. The beaches are beautiful the look at, sunbathe, picnic and walk on. They have beautiful palapas that line the walk ways and the sound of the train is quick but beautiful. But be awayre that because of the way the beach hits the shore, it creates a very... More

Unlike San Onofre which is full of rocks that slam your feet in the current San Clemente is nice sand with a ton of small gravel that stings a bit during high tide but isn't enough to hinder any real enjoyment. Big waves will toss you around so if you like that (we do) this is a fun beach.

All along San Clemente, the beach was very rocky. I had not known that before arrival and was a little sad my kids did not like to play in the pebbles, they cut our feet up quite a bit.

San Clemente Beach is a jewel to the pacific coast. Far enough away from the tourist crowd that usually flood Huntington and San Diego, this beach is always clean and never too crowded (minus the special event weekends and holidays). If you're a surfer and you haven't surfed here, you are missing out.

Loved that there are designated surfing areas at this beach near the pier- didn't need to worry about running over swimmers and body boarders. Lots to do, see, buy, and eat at the pier also!

The San Clemente State Beach is a short distance from the pier. Sometimes on weekends there is difficulty finding parking. There are several shops and restaurants nearby. The ocean is quite clean and the beach clear to walk on.

I travel with a travel trailer and the campground has full hook ups in drive thru sites. So water, electric, and sewer are available. Sites are spaced adequately. The non paved areas are dirt. No grass and no irrigation for grass. Place can be dusty. Washrooms and showers were adequate. The ones closer to the bluff over looking the beach... More

4 dots for pebbly sand and Coins-only limited parking. Guaranteed packed during weekends. But otherwise sweet laidback "SoCal" beach where young and old locals hangout to lay out on beach with few tourists during a weekday. Located south of the Pier. Parking is located a walk above the hill crossing a pedestrian bridge above Amtrak commuter line. T-Street Beach is... More

Good place with lots of room either close to the pier or away - north or south. They have seating areas with barbecue/fire pits and a walk way that runs about 4 miles along te beach and train tracks. Excellent plus you have Fishermans right at the pier for great drinks and food.
