The San Clemente trail is one of the treasures of the Pacific Coast. You start at North Beach and you walk the trail as it winds through beautiful Vistas. The train tracks are next to you and trains come through on a regular basis. If...More

Yes, it is a pier, BUT it is a great pier and really a cool, nice place to walk on. You can see the locals fishing and there is a little place near the end to get a drink or buy some local seashells etc.

The Trail is immediately beside the beach and beside the train tracks giving beautiful views as you walk. It’s crowded with walkers, strollers and dogs so bikes need to be careful but they are allowed also. Bathrooms are frequent with some stores open at either...More

You can stroll at your leisure or run. The best trail, level, well maintained and always a beautiful view.

We are walking the CCT and the SCCT is a small part of the whole! It is absolutely beautiful and thrilling to accomplish parts each day. Walking the beach trail took us to deserted beaches despite it being a sunny weekend with 80 degree weather....More

This trail is a great place to stay in shape while enjoying the ocean breeze and surfers. The stairs and ramps are the best workout for your legs.

This trail is great! The trains that pass are quite an attraction and the ocean views can't be beat. In addition one can walk to the pier for a drink, lunch or dinner or bike all the way to Dana Point.

Really enjoyed walking the trail both in the morning and evening. Sharing the trail with runners, dog walkers and families with nearly everyone respectful of the environment they are in. Good for watching the surfers.

This is a lovely trail right by the sea and along the train tracks where the train still runs regularly - but not too regularly that it's super noisy and disruptive. Definitely worth a jaunt out.

We stay in San Clemente every year and this little walkway is one of the reasons. It is well maintained and close to the ocean. It is perfect.

I would reference the San Clemente Pier as well (if you want the beach. Downtown would be Del Mar Street.
