This home built in the 1920's has a small museum about the founding of San Clemente but its real attraction is the lovely grounds. With its gardens and amazing ocean views it's not surprising that there is a wedding here every weekend.

The view is simply amazing. Very nice gardens with indigenous plants. A quick tour but definitely worth a stop.

Interesting galleries an beautiful view of ocean and pier from the Casa. Old photos of both the 30s-50s surf scene and Camp Pendleton. Really nice gardens also. Nice place to have a picnic overlooking the Pacific.

We attended a wedding here and it was probably the most beautiful, romantic setting I could have ever imagined.

I knew this would be a nice little excursion, but I was surprised how much I loved it. One can plan to just walk through and view it as a historic site with views. OR, take a light lunch, cozy up on one of the benches overlooking the city and its pier and live the experience! If you are a... More

We discovered this place on TripAdvisor and decided to visit. The place is very cool. The view is awesome, the story of the builder and the building is interesting and compelling. The layout of the building is what you would expect for a southern California house of the 19th century with a beautiful courtyard and wonderful architecture. The docents were... More

A couple of weeks ago my husband and I visited San Clemente Casa Romantica. They opened late this night due to an event they had during the day. We got lucky to see the sunset from Casa Romantica. We enjoyed learning about san clemente history and looking at the black and white pictures of what san clemente used to look... More

I'd been wanting to visit Casa Romantica since reading about the place in Sunset Magazine a few months ago. Something prompted me to call before visiting - as I would be driving from LA to see the place and wanted to confirm that they'd be open. Good thing I did - for two weeks they were only open evenings. Then... More

This is the home of the man who founded and developed San Clemente. It is interesting to see and was particularly interesting when we found out that it is substantially a duplicate of Casa Pacifica which was Nixon's residence and the Western Whitehoulse while he was president.
