If you like California history and Spanish Mission architecture, this is a great place to see. They host lots of events, but we were there (Feb 2019) just sightseeing. Easy parking.

A tranquil retreat to visit anytime as the weather in southern California cannot be beat. Such a lovely environment to stroll around with a friend or loved one.

We stopped by here on a shopping trip ti San Clemente outlet mall. Unfortunately, it's closed. We stayed in the garden and took a lot of nice pictures. It seems like a nice place to visit, we will come back soon.

Enjoyed reading about SoCal history. Spent a pleasant hour walking around the museum and art exhibit. Staffed by volunteers and a $5 donation for entrance. Would not recommend the audio tour using your cell phone-disruptive to others in vicinity (and clunky to use).

Googlemaps says half a mile, but expect a rather rigorous uphill walk.

I can't really say "blocks," but it is "right there." Very close and walkable. Casa is up a hill a bit, and you can walk down to the pier easily. :)
