had a great walk on the pier

I love the San Clemente Pier. It is a great place to come and watch the sunset, or just stroll up and down. Sometimes they have surf contests, even sandcastle competitions. The Fishermans bar is a grea place to relax and have drinks and bar food with friends, or alone. The restaurant on the south side of the pier isn't... More

A historic pier, and a great place to walk anytime, but especially when the sun is setting. Lots of Pokemon Go stops.

My husband and I have been on a "quest" to visit all the piers on the west coast, and we may be prejudiced locals, but San Clemente is our favorite. It offers a beautiful walk anytime of day (sunset is always best!) with great views north to Dana Point and south to Cotton's Point. You can watch the surfers right... More

Normally not too crowded unless it is a holiday. Great place to watch surfers, watch a sunset, or grab Happy Hour at Fisherman's on the pier. (unfortunately no dogs are allowed on the Pier which is my only complaint)

The pier boasts two restaurants, one finer dining and one mid-range. Both have alcohol and are perched atop the rolling surf at the beach. The pier is cleaner than most, and although there are anglers, it doesn't reek of fish. It's also a nice walk out to the end of the pier, and the sunsets there are unparalleled.

We stayed in San Clemente whine visiting family and decided to go to the pier. We loved it. My kids enjoyed watching the surfers, abs swimming in the ocean. The beach was clean and the water was warm. We can't wait to visit again.

We had driven half way across the country and flown the rest of the way, so my son and I planned a beach excursion on his last day in Anaheim. We rode a bus to the MetroLink train, which delivered us to the pier which was right at the beach. The area around the pier made us think missing the... More

Loved taking kids to the end of this pier. Views in all directions. Watched surfers. Fishing off pier is allowed. Not super crowded. Water is blue. Snacks available. Restaurants available. Showers at end of pier if you get sandy. Parking is tough but that's everywhere. Here street parking is free with no time limit.

Living in a beautiful beach town, one can easily take for granted such a pristine location on the California coast. Not me. I am so proud to live in this beautiful town. The pier is just the central point for all he fun, sun and natural beauty of San Clemente. The pier itself is rather relaxing and quiet. Great people... More
