I was blown away. I was driven to the airport when I saw the cemetery. It was so huge that I stop to spend time inside. So many soldiers dead for their country. Amazing to see all these tombs. Respect and honor to all heroes. RIP

I went to the Golden Gate National Cemetery on a Bucket List trip. I went to see an Uncle's grave who died long before I was born. It was a very memorable experience and one I treasure, he had such a hard life and I am his only visitor in probably 30 years, maybe one of two ever. I learned how they keep the Grave Markers so straight, there is a long concrete sleeve buried under the marker, the markers have a rectangle knife like extension on the bottom that fits into the sleeve, the result is a sturdy marker foundation that allows the alignment of rows and squares. They work hard on maintaining the markers and grounds. This is the first time I ever visited a Military Cemetery, I got the grave plot number and map from the website, finding the grave was not too difficult; great system especially if you have never been there before. I would like to than the Veteran's Administration for their outstanding job and to the Cemetery Staff, Appreciate it!…
