Went with our friends on our way to Big Trees NP, cost only 3$. But such a great experience. A lot of interesting objects to see. Very welcoming and friendly older man as staff.... HIGHLY RECOMMENDED if you happend to be in the neighborhood.

Well worth an hour or so stop if you are driving along Route 49. Interesting collection of historic buildings and artifacts covering local history and the Gold Rush.

Very well put together. Loved the county jail! Unfortunately, we missed the Red Barn. Not sure why, but if you love old jails, be sure to see this one.

A great museum to catch up on local history of the area. Lots of displays and artefacts. I especially liked the old courthouse (still occasionally in use today) and the adjacent law library and judges chamber. The original jail can be visited and is still...More

My husband and I love to visit museums. Again, this is withing 20 minutes of Valley Springs, CA. in the town of San Andreas. Great tourist stop!

The museum was very nice. They have a number of exhibits in the main buildings and outside you go into the old jail yard and jail where Black Bart was once incarcerated. Parts of the old jailhouse yard wall are still there built in 1885....More
