This place was our favorite stop of our three day Vineyard tour for our 10th anniversary. We traveled across the country to Napa for this event, and it was well worth it. Our hostess, Shelly, made us feel like the only people in Napa Valley. The wines were fabulous, the atmosphere was purely serene, and the facilities had a rustic yet modern tone to them. Very much my kind of place. The Vineyards are beautiful and well kept. Shelly took us on a tour, and allowed us to sample grapes off the vines. Our tasting came with excellent charcuterie boards in these awesome hard cases which we were able to take with us. It was a truly memorable morning, and made our 10th anniversary spectacular. We will certainly return every time we make our way to Napa.

My husband and I booked a private wine tour for our 10 year wedding anniversary and this was the first winery the tour company booked for us--and we are so happy they did! We were met by Shelly, who was just exceptional and made this experience so special for us- I can NOT say enough great things about her! She gave us a tour of the vineyards and then escorted us to our private tasting area. Our tasting consisted of 3 wines and was coupled with a delicious pairing of cheese and meats. The wine was superb and Shelly's knowledge and easygoing nature made the tasting so fun--it was our favorite experience of our entire trip! When we expressed interest in some of their other varietals she was kind enough to get us tastes of those as well. We ended up joining the wine club and buying a few bottles and can't wait to enjoy this amazing wine back home! COVID specific details: Since we arrived in the morning, we started out as the only visitors. As our tasting went on, other people arrived for their tastings and were taken to their own tasting areas, which were separate from ours and also beautiful spots. They really seem to be handling the social distance aspect exceptionally well. Hand sanitizer was provided, masks were worn while not seated, and we felt extremely safe the entire time. Bottom line: The atmosphere was wonderful, the hostess was charming and knowledgeable, and the wine was some of our favorite we tasted in all of Napa. Don't miss this wonderful boutique winery!

Myself and my husband had an absolutely fabulous tasting experience last week at Crocker & Starr. We were hosted by Shelly who was so warm, friendly and knowledgeable. The wines are absolutely amazing. We had a flight that included their Sauvignon Blanc, Malbec and Cabernet and each one was incredible. The setting is so pretty and intimate. I work in the wine industry and I am excited to recommend this wonderful experience to our guests looking for other high-end and unique tasting experiences!

Crocker & Starr Vineyard in St. Helena, California strives to set the bar for Cabernets as would a First Growth Bordeaux Château would do. They focus on Cabernet Franc, one of the major black grape varieties worldwide, producing the Loire Valley's most renowned red wines in Napa. I was first introduced to Crocker & Starr Wines through the Napa Wine Company (now Ghost Block). I would compare the Crocker & Starr Cabernet Franc to others that I have tried from around the world, on my travels, like the Raats Family Wines in Stellenbosch, South Africa, which is one of the top producers of Cabernet Franc in that region of the world, or the Coldstream Hills Vineyard from the Yarra Valley, Australia.

We made reservations two months in advance for a birthday trip that was planned for my husband. There were six of us. Tasting fee is $55pp. When we arrived, we told them that one person in our party was the designated driver and would not be tasting wine. Too bad. You have to pay for the "experience". That is petty in my opinion. You try & do the right thing & they charge you anyway. That's a lame policy. We were in & out in less than one hour. Nicole was our hostess. You get a quick tour of the vineyard and then the wine making room with storage unit. You only get to taste 3 wines. We go to the Napa Valley every year for my husband's birthday and we think there are MANY other wineries with better wine & a more friendly DD policy (Try Pina, Venge, Ladera or Laird). Save your money and go someplace else!
