Prager Winery & Port Works produces premium ports, fortified wines, and dessert and table wines using top quality Napa Valley grapes. We are a winery that has been family owned and operated for three generations and deeply involved in all stages of crafting our premium ports and wines. Located in the heart of Napa Valley, we have been aptly described as the perfect prescription for Port lovers since 1979.

Tucked away past a lush garden, the Prager tasting room is like a secret hideaway - rustic and casual - and unlike any tasting room in the Napa Valley. Currency from around the world covers the walls and ceilings. In our intimate tasting room guests can choose from a variety of our delicious offerings. Pick from the Vintage, Tawny and White Ports, or the Petite Sirah and Late Harvest Riesling table wines. To cleanse your palates between tastings, divulge in some of our delectable chocolate truffles and Imogene Prager's sweet and savory walnuts. Browse through our additional offerings from specialty vinegars, custom etched bottles, t-shirts, hats and more. We invite you to step off the beaten path and join us for an exceptional port experience.

We went to Prager Winery which is our favorite place for port in Napa Valley. We have visited several times. For the holidays we always stop by and buy some port, their delightful nuts, and also their pecans. Yum! Staff is great. Its a funky and fun tasting room. I always enjoy reading the sayings on the posted dollar bills.

On a latest trip to Napa we decided to try more boutique style wineries and came upon Prager. We walked into what felt like someone's kitchen and we were the only ones there. We were greeted by Peter Prager the owner. He was nicest guy. He proceeded to give us a great tasting and lesson in Ports. It was really... More

Jeff met us at the door and we had the best time tasting with him. He gave me his card and I accidentally washed it. :( Their ports are wonderful. We had a petite syrah port at a restaurant in Napa and I decided we had to visit Prager before leaving. I LOVE the family owned businesses in Napa and... More

Stopped here because my husband enjoys port. You basically stand in a small, crowded room covered in dollar bills to do your tasting. Be forewarned that there is no bar to lean against. The Prager brothers themselves do the pouring. My husband enjoyed the port, but it was too expensive for our wallets. If you want an unusual, funky experience,... More

Although we have a few other wines, the experience here is certainly centered on our ports. Our small family owned and operated winery can be a little cozy. More

Stopped in quick because others had told me I couldn't missed it. Did the $20 tasting quickly, and it was amazing! Staff were fun and knowledgeable, and I will look to purchase their wines in the future. Great!!!!

If you are so-so with port wines, you must try this. If you love port wines, you already know about this place. The entrance and inside are quirky, no doubt. Dollar bills all over walls and ceiling in small tasting room. Wait till you taste the tremendous variety of port wines. You'll be a convert!

This is a family run business and they treat everyone like family. This is our favorite winery to visit...We locked out keys in our car and for 5 hours they took care of my wife as I struggled to find a special locksmith...We bought a lot more wine at the end of the day! This is the best winery in... More

My husband loves port so when I was researching our trip to Napa I stumbled across Prager and saw all the rave reviews. Of course Prager went right on the list for a tasting. Luckily we arrived a 1/2 hour before they closed and we ushered into a very cool space, small and intimate, nothing fancy just down to earth.... More

We've done many of the big Disney-esque wineries and are thrilled to say this isn't one. Wonderful port and wonderful people. Our $20 tasting fee was waived with our purchase. And we did indeed purchase several bottles as it was excellent port. The candied pecans delicious too! Highly recommend if you want a change from cab and Chardonnay tasting!

After 8 days in Napa - this was the hidden gem and one of the best experiences. The port was exceptional and the staff (all family) treat you like a welcome guest, not a visitor to a theme park. Take a chance on something less commercial but far more exceptional.
