We were lucky enough to have had a private tasting at Joseph Phelps. We could not believe how beautiful the setting was here. It was absolutely breathtaking. We were seated on the patio underneath a large umbrella and our hostess told us about the history of the winery and started to pour us the 7 wines that were in our... More

We had high expectations of our wine and cheese pairing experience at Joseph Phelps and were disappointed. There were 14 people that were all put together at a table with 6 wines, some cheese and fruit. The part of the experience that we didn't enjoy was the host. It's hard to describe how he made you feel, but it wasn't... More

We were able to attend one of their many tasting tours during our visit. Originally it was full but being a Phelps Preferred Member opened a spot for us last minute seating in the founder's room. I'm so impressed with the research and dedication that is committed to thier wines. Excellent variety and quality for tasting and great education. Walked... More

You must make an appoinment here & we chose Terrace Tasting. Relaxing view of vineyards & comfy chairs - it doesn't get much more relaxing! We tasted some superior wines & found the experience worth it- If you purchase wine after, our fee was waived. This is experience is for the wine lover of fine wines!

We were on a wine tour of the region for the 3rd time in the past few years and booked a private tasting with Phelps. The wines were excellent as was the knowledge of the staff about the winery and the wines. One of our best experiences - highly recommended.

We had a tour which showed us the main building and different rooms but not the winery itself nor their way to make wine. The premises were well-kept and polished like museum rooms. A lot of appearance and nice view on the wineyard completed the visit. Wines prices were ridiculous. I guess the winery's members are very rich and do... More

Phelps has the best combination that you want in a tasting at a winery. Great view, great service, excellent wine. The only reason I didn't give them 5 points for the overall rating is because the tastings are expensive at $75 per person this summer (2016). I would call it 4.5.

We visited Joseph Phelps this weekend for a wine tasting experience. We reserved in advance for a party of 4 and were treated to a 2+ hour experience in which we sampled multiple wines, had a chance to ask questions and enjoy both the setting as well as some outstanding wines. our guide was Adrian and he was both personable... 6 of us travel to wine country regularly...We buy a lot of wine to fill our cellars. At $125/person for the Reserve Tasting...They give you some bread sticks. Won't deal on wine our credit your tasting with case purchases. No doubt wine is good, but there are much better values elsewhere. I've always enjoyed the Insignia and the Backus was... More

Spectacular wines abound at this household name winery. The facilities are beautiful, the staff knowledgeable. Tastings are relaxed and you aren't rushed through the tasting. Really enjoyable!
