Our mission is to produce the finest small lots of Italian-inspired wines in California. We invite you to join us in enjoying these wines, which are hand-crafted in Napa Valley, although just off the beaten path.

Typically I try to only leave positive reviews, because I love to celebrate great restaurants and wineries. But our last visit to Benessere really left me with a bad taste in my mouth. This winery has been a favorite of ours because they have great affordable easy drinking wines. In fact on our first visit with them last year we bought a case. So we decided to visit a second time to restock our cellar. We arrived at our tasting early and spent about an hour going through the tasting flight. We ended up buying a half a case of wine at the end of our tasting and decided to hang out for another 15 minutes before our next tasting appointment. Not even 5 minutes later we were told by the manager to leave because they had people waiting and they had only booked our seat for an hour. I felt very rushed and I had the feeling that I was "in the way" when there were plenty of tables available and I could only see one couple sipping on a tasting by the front entrance who looked completely relaxed. I left feeling very disappointed and unappreciated as a customer. I've never been asked to leave any winery or restaurant because my table had a "time frame". Especially after we were timely to our appointment and intended to purchase. It made me want to turn around and ask for a refund. In the future it would be helpful to explain to your guests over the phone or in their confirmation that they have a certain amount of time to enjoy their tasting.

My wife and I drink both red and white Italian wines almost exclusively, so we were very much looking forward to visiting Benessere vineyard. The location is very pretty, and we were greeted with a nice white wine. Unfortunately, the wines went downhill from there. I didn't find them appealing at all and nothing reminded me of the wines of Italy. Unfortunately, too they request a 2-bottle purchase per person in order to waive the tasting fee, whereas many other vineyards only request one. Given this we opted for 2 bottles of their rose wine to cover my fee but paid for my wife as we couldn't find ourselves actually drinking the red wines offered.

We stumbled upon Benessere 5 years ago and we loved the small and intimate setting they have. Ryan is super helpful and very friendly. We love enjoying the scenery on the property while sipping great wines that have the heart of a small business owner put into it.

We really enjoyed this winery, and got excellent service from Bob. We tend not to shy away from heavy wines with tannins, and that is not what this winery is after, but for easy drinking wines that are complex while still on the medium-lighter side, it was all one could ask for. We enjoyed all of the wines they served, and bought a bottle of the sangiovese. We’ll definitely recommend this one to friends. And what a beautiful location!
I also want to say, we really appreciate that Bob was happy to recommend a winery for our next tasting of the afternoon, and really took into account everything we mentioned we were hoping to taste in the wine country that day. We always make a point to return to wineries that also give great recommendations in the area. We were very lucky to have started our day at Benessere. Thanks Bob! Alla prossima!

My brother and I meet up annually for a guys week in Sonoma County for bike riding and wine tasting. We always try to include a Napa Valley day. This year we bought a Covet Pass and Benessere was one of the wineries that we could get a free tasting (after buying the pass). So despite the smoke and Covid, we made a reservation for 3 wineries in Napa Valley that we had not tried before. Benessere was our first visit of the day and Meagan was our tasting host and sat us outside in a beautiful patio area right next to the vineyards. The wines were great and there is a lot of history there. Would recommend for a visit.

The Benish family from Illinois manifest their love of Italy by producing Italian-inspired wines and naming their vineyard “Benessere” which translates to “well-being.”The setting is beautiful and you need to like Italian-style wines to appreciate their offerings. The outdoor tasting space is quite large, and even though it is a small, family winery, the experience didn't give us that personable, family feeling.
Wine is very individual and it may be a good option for you depending on your palate. We liked a couple of the wines but weren't over the moon, one of our guests didn't enjoy any of the wines, and another couple loved them!Want to learn more about wineries and restaurants in Napa Valley and beyond? We loved the entire experience. Small, family owned and cozy. The wines "Red" tasting with the truffle pairing was wonderful. We purchased our favorites to age and enjoy at a later date. Thank you!

Lovely setting and an outdoor tasting area. We booked a tasting as I was interested in the Italian influenced wines but was left disappointed with the experience. I fully understand when booking a tasting you are not going to get a 175 ml glass but the pouring were so small (probably the smallest I’ve had in the 10 years of visiting Napa winery’s) that when I swilled the wine you saw the bottom of the glass, so after a couple of sips I was left short of establishing the bouquet of the wines. We also requested some water, which we did receive after the 3rd pouring?

I have had people visiting lately and came here twice this month. This place is beautiful with gorgeous views. We sat outside, once at a table, the next on a comfy sofa in the courtyard, the vineyards surround the whole place and lookimg out on them with the mountains as a backdrop is so relaxing. We all loved the rose, the pinot grigio and most of us liked the reds. A couple of my friends thought the sangiovese and the zin were too spicy but they are supposed to be, it is the grape and the style, I loved them!
Why only two stars? The wine hosts. The first visit in early April was on a Thursday and not too busy. Our guy-I wish I remembered his name - was this slow, lumbering, lazy chubby dude who seems to hate his job - no info about the winery or the wine. In fact, except for the first pour, he didn't even tell us what he was pouring! He ruined the experience and lost a sale for.himself (and tip as we always tip even just decent service) and the winery because, unless we really do not like the wine, we always buy at least a few bottles.
Benessere used to be way better so I gave it another try a couple of weeks later but asked for that guy not to be our host. This time our wine host was a bit better but the 2 other hosts were so much more fun and informative, from what we could see and hear.
Won't be coming back.

This was the best stop of our trip to Napa Valley. Mario assisted us and was extremely knowledgeable. He's a credit to the winery. We were the first appointment and had the place to ourselves. Mario gave us such a personal experience and made us feel very welcome. This is a "must see" in the Napa Valley! Thank you Mario!!!
