About
Merryvale's inviting tasting cellar is located in the heart of Napa Valley in the quaint town of St. Helena. We offer wine tasting flights until 5pm, with our retail room open until 5:30pm everyday. We offer a variety of tasting options to suit every palate including our legendary Profile Library tasting and wine and cheese pairings. Our wines are produced from sustainably farmed Napa Valley vineyards, including three estate properties. Guest favorites include our Bordeaux blend known as Profile, our St. Helena Estate Cabernet, and our Napa Valley Cabernet Franc.

My husband and I enjoyed our tasting with Madison. She was very knowledgeable and friendly. The tasting room is gorgeous as well! We visited on a chilly rainy day, and I was given a cozy blanket! Love the attention to detail! We will definitely be back!

Disappointing

Empanada & Wine pairing. The empanada's are 90% bread, thus not a "food" paring to complement the wine, just a "bread" pairing. The wine flight was boring for Napa valley. Impressive room, I get it. But, the VGS tasting room is a 5 minute walk from Merryvale and was outstanding for the same price @ $85, just w/o the impressive room.

We're sorry to hear that you were disappointed by our Empanada and Wine pairing. El Porteno is a bay area favorite and we sampled several purveyors to find the best. Though the response to this pairing has been overwhelmingly positive and some guests have even returned multiple times to share the experience with friends, we realize that it may not be for everyone.

Take this winery OFF your tasting list!

Buyer beware on this winery. They’ll sign you up for their wine club using a iPad and not expressly indicate the hard terms of their contract agreement. Once you join, you are locked in for four shipments that are around $300 to $500 per shipment. Cancellation of the membership is difficult and if allowed it’s in lieu of you paying a high fee. Lastly, a large unauthorized tip was added to our total purchase. We weren’t given a receipt at the time of purchase and were told they’d email it to us so we were not aware of the tip until well after we left the winery. The tip added to our bill was around $100.00. There a lot of other notable wineries in Napa with better business practices that you shouldn’t have to have a headache about afterward.

We work very hard to create a wonderful experience for every visitor. Sometimes we fall short, and when this happens we do our best to learn and improve, but your review misrepresents many aspects of your visit. The amount of the gratuity you refer to as unauthorized was selected by you at the time of the order. We have attempted to contact you many times unsuccessfully via phone and email to discuss. it is challenging for a business to refute a review that we feel to be inaccurate, so we will just say that we wish you the best and note that you did complete and sign a Wine Club membership form during your visit. It is here on file if you'd like to review. It's also worth noting that you were a short-lived member of our Wine Club in 2018, again exiting the club after receiving your complementary tastings and savings on your initial order.

Beautiful place with cozy decoration. All staff is very kind, freindly and helpful. Wine tasting reservation is needed. We choose Cabernet tasting that contained 5 types of wine that all nice esp. profile.

Delightful St. Helena Tasting Room

We were exploring St. Helena and walked in to this wonderful tasting room. Large and very comfortable. Bar is a great spot to sit. Staff were AWESOME!!! The wine is delicious and pretty affordable too, so win, win, win! And they have a FABULOUS barrel room for events too! Loved our visit and will stop in and take guests whenever we are in St. Helena

Great tasting; great setting

We had a tasting of a wide variety of Merryvale wines last weekend. The tasting room is rustic and feels like your tasting in the barrel aging room (but a little warmer). Our host was the inimitable Patti Neumann. Your tasting experience will be enhanced if she is your host.
