About
Forty years after its founding, Conn Creek is still focused on what Napa Valley does best: Cabernet Sauvignon and other Bordeaux varietals. In keeping with its heritage, Conn Creek secures grapes from nearly all of Napa Valley's renowned sub-appellations, sourcing from vineyards that are proven to grow exceptional grapes that produce wines of character and expression. It's an approach that captures the "Best of Napa Valley" and provides winemaker Mike McGrath with an unparalled palette from which to blend each wine and vintage. Through these diverse sites and regions, we explore the differences between Napa Valley's sub-appellations as well as the ways in which they complement one another.

Great Wine Tasting!
Jun 2021
We made a reservation and used our Priority Wine Pass to receive 2 for 1 wine tasting for the AVA Series Cabernet Sauvignon ($40.00 savings). Tom, our wine host and very knowledgeable about wines, let us pick a table in their outside courtyard. We tasted four different wines. We did not realize until later in our wine tasting that we could have used our Priority Wine Pass to get $25.00 off of their $125.00 per person Barrel Blending Experience (up to two guests with reservations, a $50.00 savings). This is a one-of-a-kind Napa Valley wine tasting experience that provides guests a rare opportunity to learn about, taste, and blend wines to make their own custom blend bottle of wine to take home!!! We want to do this if we ever get the chance to go back to Napa Valley.

The Best of Napa!
Sep 2020 • Couples
Heads up: this is a long review. Short summary: highly recommended. Do the blending experience. Now if you aren't lazy in reading, please continue:

Both Dragos and I throughly enjoyed being winemakers of the day. We ended up booking one main activity each day (Sonoma winery, where we met the owners and winemakers), French Laundry, and the blending experience to be winemakers at Conn Creek Winery. Honestly, I knew I would like and enjoy this experience because it sounded unique and more to offer than a regular wine tasting, but I had no idea how much I would like it. We didn't just like it! We loved it!

First of all, Steve, kindly informed me that they would like to reschedule our blending experience due to the excessive heatwave we experienced that weekend. We agreed to scheduling it in the morning of our last day. Originally we had it at 230pm the previous day and it would be switched to 1030am the following day. Steve was gracious enough to custom our blending experience for an hour later at 1130am per our request. Much appreciated! One of the lovely staff members, Jessica, greeted us warmly. Thomas was our wine guide for our wine blending experience. He is extremely knowledgeable, humble, and a great sense of humor. He is also very personable (congrats to a new papa!) and got a majority of our preferences for chocolate, how we take our coffee, etc based upon our wine choices. I found that fascinating!

Dragos and I loved the blending experience. He prefers clay soil. I prefer volcanic. I will let him drink his preference glass first and then give him a glass of my preference afterwards. He liked my wine afterwards. You cannot got wrong with quality wine! The grapes are so sweet. And interesting on what I thought was aesthetic decor was actually quite calculated for maximum sunlight, protection, and nourishment for the grapes. Everything handpicked by a trained eye and skilled set of hands to cut only the best choices: plump, ripe, and juicy bunches of grapes. Labor intensive for sure. Learning about it gives me more appreciation for the wine I consume.

Out of our excursions this Napa trip, we highly recommend this one! This was both our favorite our of the three activities that we booked on this trip. It was the best one for us and perfect because we unknowingly saved the best for last! It was meant to be! Thank you Thomas for making winemaking experience a ton of fun! We left with high spirits, empowerment in choosing our cab wines, and a beautiful souvenir (our very own bottled blended wine) of our cherished time in Napa county. If there were another star to give for
ranking, I'd give all the stars!!

Anthology tasting
Mar 2020 • Couples
We visited Conn Creek in early March and did the Anthology vertical tasting. We enjoyed it very much. Great wine and a really nice cheese platter served with the tasting. We are fairly new wine club members so after the vertical tasting we tasted a few more wines to get more familiar with ALL the varieties from the different appellations, then enjoyed a final pour out on the patio. A wonderful variety wine and great quality.

Great Napa winery
Nov 2019 • Couples
Small winery with a very good selection of wines to taste. They produce wines with grapes coming from different states in the valley. I loved the Diamond Valley cabernet. Very profesional staff.

Barrel Blending Experience
Oct 2019
Our hostess Jessica was a pleasure, sharing knowledge of the terroir, appellation areas and their characteristics; and then the fun began with choosing our favorite 2016 Cabernet from one of the five regions, blending with a choice of Merlot, and other wines to create our own “recipe” for my palette. Now to the beakers to blend, bottle and create our custom labels. It was sooo much fun.

Do the blending experience
Aug 2018 • Couples
My husband and I turned fifty while vacationing in wine country and thought it would fun to make a custom blended bottle of wine to commemorate our birthdays.

I admit we were both concerned this was going to be a bit cheesy when we made the reservation but that wasn't the case at all. Jessica was our host for the experience and she's very friendly and knowledgeable.

You start by blending your Cabernet base from Cabernets from five different AVAs. Once you have a base you like you blend that with merlot, Cabernet franc, Malbec and petit Verdot. Once you are happy with your final blend, you start to blend your full bottle, bottle it, cork it, and then put your own label on it. The wine needs to rest for three months before drinking but should be consumed within a year. If you save your formula you can order more wine in the future of your blend.

I really do recommend you do this as your first stop of the day. You don't want your palate to be blown out by a lot of previous tastings when you are trying to come up with your own blend.

This was a really fun, informative experience and I highly recommend it.

10th Wedding Anniversary
Jun 2019 • Couples
Our first stop in Napa Valley (celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary) was Conn Creek. We enjoyed the wine, and thoroughly enjoyed the resident wine expert Jake. He was so knowledgeable about the wines! We also learned about how the different types of soil lead to different types of grapes. Jake made our first stop in Napa great one, and we wish him and Conn Creek all the best!

Wine Making
Jun 2019 • Couples
As new wine club members they recommended doing their wine blending class while we were visiting. So we did! It was great fun and very informative although a little overwhelming trying to pick out those flavors and elements in wine that makes you like one over another. The wine educator we worked with was very informative and helpful. We felt like mad scientists of wine! I am excited to drink the wine we created to see how it turned out.
