We decided to take a guided tour of the capitol. The guide let us know immediately that we were not going to get the full tour, saying that large portions of the capitol were locked down because a dignitary was visiting in the afternoon. (But...More

This was an opportunity to learn about California's state capital and the judicial system. A free self tour with the option to pay for a guided tour. Friendly and clean environment.

I'm glad to hear you enjoyed your visit to the California State Capitol and I thank you for your kind words. However, I would like to point out to anyone reading this review, guided tours of the Capitol are free of charge. It's your building!

The most beautiful state capital I have seen. Expect metal detectors and security to enter. Interesting historical displays of offices. The rotunda is stunning with an interesting mix of colors.

Truly a must see, if you are visit our capitol city. It can be fun all ages, and truly is a museum to the history of our state government. Capitol Park is a great way to spend a picnic lunch.

This was our 2nd time touring the Capital. Beautiful building and well done exhibits. Interesting to go inside the assembly rooms to see what they look like, huge portraits of all the former governors, ornate and beautiful architecture. Well worth a visit!

The Capitol building is beautiful, but sadly it was obscured by a Kaiser Permanent Display set up on the steps of the building the Saturday we visited. They should create a certain distance between the building and temporary set-ups. I was not able to get...More
