Most railroad museums are greasy and dirty. In contrast, the CSR museum has prepared many of its pieces so they are more like works of art. The interpretive exhibits are superb and the museum is enjoyable for visitors of all ages.

The volunteer guides at this museum are a wealth of knowledge. They are anxious to chat with visitors and very pleasant. We are locals and visited with another family. We spent about two hours and could have stayed longer, but the museum was closing for the day. Parking is easy and close to the museum. There are benefits to buying... More

We enjoyed this museum a great deal, and have taken several sets of friends there. It is well laid out and one can see everything with getting overwhelmed. Really nice collection of train cars, model trains, and California history.

I visited the Railroad Museum with my 4 grandchildren ages 4 - 13. We had a great time there. We went on the tour and found it to be very educational as well as interesting. When we were finished with the tour, our interest was perked and we wanted to explore the different trains to see first hand the things... More

The museum has many unique railroad cars and engines on display. There is a model train setup and display. There is a play land for the young people to play with wooden trains. There are many people willing to talk about the displays everywhere in the museum.

From toddlers to adults there are activities and things for all to see. My grandchildren love to play with the toy trains. Then we stroll through the train cars. Enjoyable day for all

This is one of the best museums I have seen. I went in not really being a "train person" but I am now. Great for adults, history buffs and kids. First class.

I came here with teenage son and husband, thinking I'd be less interested and it wasn't the case!! The volunteer guides make the whole visit more interesting and fun! I did learn things and certainly more respectful for how transcontinental railroad was built and what it meant to California Also well worth having a trip on the train if they... More

Retirement get-a-way. This would of been a high light during our 50-State Quest years. But maybe more now just because we did this on our anniversary month. The first thing was seeing the Railroad Museum and the shops near it. The museum is an indoor event well done and not outside like so many we have seen in the 37... More
