Beautiful sitting outside in the shade, socially distanced, with great wine and a friendly helpful server...what more could anyone want?! Our experience was terrific. We don't often join wine clubs, but we thought this was worth it! We were shown the room with the magnificent stained glass, with wine bottle series to match. The sculptures on the grounds were also interesting. This a family owned winery that takes pride in everything they do. We would certainly add Peju to the visitation list as their wines are very good, and not widely distributed.

Our party of 4 enjoyed a wine tasting here on our first day visiting the Napa area. The tasting was outside but in a tent so very comfortable. Our wine guy was friendly and entertaining and the wine was very good. Each couple bought several bottles to take home, The grounds are beautiful as well. Highly recommend.

When I arrived for a tasting, I was greeted with a sign saying “Please, No Pets” with an image of a dog crossed out. See photo. In a valley that prides itself on being dog friendly, Peju stands out as a despicable exception. Dog lovers, take your business elsewhere.

We’ve actually visited here twice, and both times were not pleased with the service. The only reason we’re giving it 2 out of 5 is because the grounds are beautiful and some of the wine is good. Our most recent experience was one that we had booked tastings with existing members. One tasting included food, and was for two people, the other was for wine only and for two people. We’d planned on the guys doing the food and wine pairing, while the ladies were going to just do the wine. Despite the tasting areas being outside and right next to each other, they refused to let us be seated together. So we had to forgo the food pairing just so that we could all sit together. And they did not show any remorse or care for the inconvenience. Meanwhile, and keep in mind, this is in July during the pandemic, they have full bridal parties coming in, no one was wearing masks... it was a hot mess, and the staff didn’t care. Then we go to leave and ask for our wine pickup, only to find that they couldn’t find it, and later found out they had given it away to someone else... ummm, how’s that possible considering ID is required to confirm your pickup? All in all, we’ll never go here again. There are SO many other wineries with better wine and SIGNIFICANTLY better service. Try Davis Estates, B.R. Cohn, Alpha & Omega, VGS, B Cellars, MacRostie, or Merryvale.

I first heard of Peju nearly a decade ago from my sister, who mentioned it was one of her favorite wineries. In many ways, I'm the male version of her, just less pretty. Given her recs are always spot on with a high bar, I knew I had to visit. As I wrote this review, I've since gone several times over a span of 5 years. Wine Membership: I officially signed up during my last visit in August! For context, I've only ever bit the bullet on a handful of wine memberships because there's so many great wineries and multiple memberships add up! I mean a Netflix membership is $9-$16 a month, but wine memberships usually start at a min $50 a month (based on 3 bottle quarterly shipments at $150). If you go for the reserves, this easily jumps to several hundred dollars a month. I divert, but the TL;DR is I'm quite picky. I have this rule that I never sign up on my first visit, no matter how great the experience is. For me, consistency is key and that means not only service/hospitality, but also the wine across different vintages. Also, the membership needs to be flexible, Peju allows you to swap the pre-selected bottles with anything else you like. Sadly, you don't see this flexibility among most wineries these days. Service/Hospitality - I've never encountered any staff members that weren't kind, helpful, or knowledgeable. In particular, I want to give a shout out to Harvey who was our hilarious and knowledgeable wine educator. He really sealed the deal for me on the membership this time around. I love it when people are passionate about what they do and he clearly has one for wine and people. As a fellow gemini, and Bay Area native, we definitely got along with each other instantly. Definitely ask for him on your next visit, you won't be disappointed! Wine - They have a good range from white, reds, and even a dessert zin. I particularly enjoyed the Sparkling Rose, Fifty Fifty, Sketches, Merlot, but absolutely loved the '15 Cab Reserve.   Tasting Fee - Is currently $45 for ~6 wines. Each tasting fee is waived with the purchase of 3 bottles. You can always sign up to be a member for free tastings too =D.
