Excellent Experience, Beautiful Property, Delicious Wines
We thoroughly enjoyed our tour and tasting - Kamran Dehzad did an excellent job! He took time to describe the wines we were tasting and let us relax and enjoy in-between tastes. The property is absolutely gorgeous and the tour was wonderful. He was gracious enough to let us stop along the tour and offered to take pictures of us. Highly recommend!

    Cozy Outdoor Wine Tasting
Since we could not be indoors for wine tasting due to covid restrictions, the staff created a warm covered outdoor club seating area for us. The warm sparkling gas fire pit was a nice touch with the capri lights that surrounded our intimate seating area. We ordered a variety cheese plate that complimented the wines we were given to taste. Wine flight tasting by pourer Jess was enjoyable. The Cuvee Merlot was excellent and we liked trying the new release of Petit Vigne. Beautiful winery location even though it was pouring down rain.

We scheduled our tour through Beau Wine Tours for a tour of the vineyard with ATVs and a tour of wine preservation caves. Due to recent treatment of the vinyards, the ATV trip was cancelled. Rutherford gave us a complete refund but still held the tour through the caves and continued with the planned wine tasting and pairing. Laurie Moussa was our guide / sommilier and was delightful. The Rutherford Hill Winery was beautiful and Laurie Moussa introduced us to some delicious wines. We recommend both.

Bottles and picnic experience was not worth the expense. It’s $30 a person, to use their picnic table. You then have to buy a bottle of wine for every 2 people who are in your group. So our group of 4, spent $120 to bring our own picnic, and then spent $110 for 2 bottles of wine. The wine options to buy, were like 5 choices. Thought the $30 would go toward the wine requirements, but it did does not.
The view is pretty.

We booked a private reception style tasting for our corporate event. Debbie was incredibly helpful during the booking process, ensuring that they crafted an experience that everyone in our team would enjoy – they even had non-alcoholic options for the non-wine drinkers. Upon arrival, we were greeted by Logan, their Hospitality Manager, and then escorted to two private cabanas where our wine glass and tasting menu were there to greet us. Logan walked us through five wines which were wonderful. He provided such great information behind each variety, the region it was from, and the profile of the wine. Given how beautiful Rutherford Hill Winery is – sitting atop a hill where you can look down and see the Rutherford region – we wanted to explore the grounds a bit. Logan was kind enough to move our tasting to various parts of the property so we could see the beautiful venue, look out at the valley below, and enjoy their wonderful wine! I highly recommend Rutherford Hill Winery for either a group or personal event. The view and wine are worth it!

This place has an amazing-looking tasting room built of huge timbers! Unfortunately, our tasting was in a dirt lot across the parking lot from that nice building. The trees were all grown up, so we couldn’t see the valley below. IF the trees were trimmed the views from here would be amazing.
Wines are not at all something we enjoyed… very basic, bordering on bad.
Our server was awesome! She was very friendly and helpful and we enjoyed our chats with her, too bad the wines and views aren’t better or this would have been an excellent experience!

Excellent wine tasting experience. We decided to visit Rutherford Hill Winery as we are members of their sister winery. The farmhouse was beautiful. We enjoyed an outdoor tasting on the patio. The tasting was complimented by cool soft rich background music. Karen - our wine host/ educator elevated our experience with her friendly demeanor and fund of knowledge. The wines were very good.
I would definitely recommend this winery.

Inside and outside patio areas available. You can also bring your own picnic. Every single wine for tasting was exquisite. Only better and better. I ended up becoming a member that day hehe. Relaxing atmosphere. Was my friends first time in Napa. Easy to make a reservation online.

We really enjoyed this winery. Jose, our guide and wine expert, did a fantastic job of telling us the history of the property. While in the caves, he gave us a mini sommelier course and taught us a few tricks about tasting wine that I didn’t know. The wines were fantastic. We signed up for the wine club and we will definitely come by again when we are in Napa.

We love Rutherford Hill Winery! This was the second time my sister and I visited. In 2019 we toured the caves and learned so much about wine making. This time we made a reservation for the Signature Selection Tasting. Our wine expert Jordan was very personable and knowledgeable. We had a lovely table outdoors; the 5 types of wine were excellent. All the staff were very welcoming and and we highly recommend you visit. Special thanks to Kathy who helped us pick out some unique wine accessory gifts.

Rutherford was our third and last winery on the list for my sister's 50th birthday. The caver tour and tasting cost us $50 per person. There were four of us. In all of our opinions, going to Rutherford was a COMPLETE WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY! We could not wait for the tour to end. The 3:30pm guide on Saturday, June 23rd was an absolutely boring, noncaring, uneducational, lackluster, nonengaging individual. WWE COULD NOT WAIT FOR THE TOUR TO END! We paid $50 per person and we expected more than this joke of a tour. Repeat...RUTHERFORD is a JOKE OF A TOUR. Going to Rutherford was the complete antithesis to the two other wineries we visited earlier in the day and unfortunately for me, I saved Rutherford for the last winery thinking it would be comparable to the other two wineries or even better and my sister could end her 50th celebration with awesome sauce. Of course that didn't happen. I emailed the woman I was in touch with and let her know how we felt and no response. If I were to rate it from 1 to 10, Rutherford gets an zero. Repeat, Rutherford is a 0 out of 10. I would also give it a zero on Tripadvisor but Tripadvisor doesn't allow you to do that. If you want a really good customer oriented educational experience, DON'T GO TO RUTHERFORD. Go to the other wineries we visited earlier in the day and you will not regret your experience and the money you spend. First winery we visited was Hendry Ranch Winery. Hendry charged us $30 for a 1.5 tasting and it was absolutely fantastic! The woman we had the pleasure of sitting with educated us on wine tasting and was extremely pleasant, knowledgeable, and engaging. The winery is family owned and you'll see on Tripadvisor that it's ranked highly by other reviewers. Rightly so because it was fantastic! We're already planning to go back and do the 10am seminar tour with Mr. Hendry. The second winery we attended, Palmaz Vineyards, was also AMAZING!! Repeat....AMAZING! Since it was my sister's 50th birthday, we chose the wine and food pairing. It was pricier, $100 per person, but I would no doubt do it all over again because it was soooooooooo good. Diana, our sommelier and tour guide, was PERFECT! I learned so much from her, including stories of what happened on the winery, the history, previous owners. And to top the tour, the pairings we had for the wines was delicious! Anyway, I'm going to write review on Hendry and Palmaz because they were top notch. Rutherford Hill Winery didn't even come close to what Hendry Ranch Winery and Palmaz Vineyards offered. If you can only go to one winery and you don't want to spend too much, opt for Hendry Ranch Winery. If you want to do a special treat for your loved one, definitely spend the money for Palmaz. Just don't waste your $50 on Rutherford, it really is a joke!

We have enjoyed Rutherford Hill wines for years and have visited the winery on three occasions. We were excited to bring our friends to experience the winery and enjoy a picnic with a view. We were however very disappointed to discover their new policy of buying THREE bottles of wine to picnic. You cannot even get a free tasting if you buy wine which is just silly in my opinion. Love the wine but we enjoyed a free picnic table with bottle purchase at other wineries with an equally beautiful view. So sorry they changed their policy as we won't be back. I'm also left a bad taste in our friends mouth who we wanted to introduce to Rutherford Hill wines.
