Grgich Hills Estate is an iconic Napa Valley winery, consistently producing world-class wines. Vintner Hall of Fame inductee Miljenko "Mike" Grgich first earned world-wide recognition when the Chardonnay he crafted won the 1976 Paris Tasting, beating the best of France. Mike then partnered with Austin Hills to open their family-owned-and-operated winery in 1977. Committed to natural winegrowing and sustainability, we farm our five estate vineyards without artificial fertilizers, pesticides or herbicides, rely on wild yeast fermentation and use our passion and art to handcraft food-friendly, balanced and elegant wines.

We were greeted and given tour/tasting by young Grgich family member Maya. Special welcome signs with our last name had been made. Maya was delightful and let us pluck grapes from various varietal vines. We were with one other couple and this added to the experience. We toured the winery and learned about various Grgich processes as well as the... More

The grounds outside the winery are really nice to stroll thru. We had a private tasting since and got fabulous background information about the family and the wine making process.

Most informative and interesting, found out the "Hills" part of the name comes from the partner owner of Hills Coffee many years ago, never knew! Private tasting was over the top and was complimentary since we are a wine club member, highly recommend!

Decided to stop in for our last tasting of the day and were so glad we did. Vorney's smiling face greeted us and she took care of us. We loved learning about Grgich and the wines from her! The fume blanc was our favorite and we ended up taking a bottle home as the tasting was comped with a bottle... More

Really wonderful tour experience with Maya (hope I spelled that right). The winery has a great history, top-notch wines, and generous pours. This is absolutely a must-try on your winery list, no matter how limited your time in Napa.

Grgich Hills Estates was the very first winery we visited on initial trip to Napa and Sonoma and what a wonderful choice it was. Tasting experience was great (so sorry I don't remember name of wonderful gentleman who helped us) and the wines were truly excellent. I had vowed "no more wine clubs" but of course now a member and... More

We were staying in Napa and visited this winery. As soon as we made our way in, Vorney welcomed us and explained the history of the Winery. She looked after us, explaining the wines and gave us lots of tastings. We ended up buying some wine and then went through to the courtyard to relax outside with some more wine.... More

Dear Eyesri, Thank you for your visit and your review. We're glad to hear you enjoyed the experience. We do agree that it would be great to offer something more than cheese for our guests but we can not legally sell food; our country permit forbids it. You'll find that almost all wineries can not sell food and only a... More

Great wines and a really nice tasting experience. They have excellent interaction with customers. Grounds are nice, too. No appointments needed.

We had never visited the Grgich Estate, though we have had the wine before. The tasting room (general one) was lovely-- even with a full crowd. Our attendant was knowledgeable, attentive, fun and poured a couple of "bonus" wines for us. The wines were TOP NOTCH-- not inexpensive ($50-$75 a bottle) but outstanding AND unlike other high end places-- they... More

Chardonnay Miljenko's Selection 2013 was very tasty. Essence Sauvignon Blanc 2014 is another good one. The reds are Petit Verdot Miljenko's Selections 2012, Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley 2009, Cabernet Sauvignon Yountville Selection 2011, and Violetta Late Harvesy 2012. Karen does a great job educating us on their wines.
