You can find more challenging slopes in Southern California. Both Mountain High and Big Bear feature longer expert runs and more terrain features for the dare devil sportsmen among us. But Snow Valley has two great advantages over these resorts, especially for us intermediate skiers. One, it's inexpensive. And two it's closer. To which can be added a third: it... More

We wanted our child to see snow, and of course the weekend we booked in arrowhead was 60... so we went to Snow Valley to take her sledding. It was great sledding, very easy, ride the lift up, very long sledding hill down, very worthwhile. Although I will say its super expensive! it was over $30 per person! I was... More

I'm reviewing the Snow Drift Tubing Park in running springs. Well, it seems they nickel and dime you. $5 for parking and pay for tubing per hour! $60/hr for a family of 4...PER HOUR!! They don't allow food inside and there's only port-a-potties. No actual bathrooms. Cash only for parking and entry but there's an ATM on-site. Long line to... More

my kids (7 & 5 yrs old) are tired of riding tubing. so we decided to try skiing this year. enrolled both of them in learning center. both of them liked it. however the little one (5 yrs old) wanted to ride with parent on second day. so we took her out and ski together. overall snow valley seems good... Its good as only a short drive to get to if you local but always check for snow chain advisories but if you stuck some of they guys will let use and bring back for a fee of course at side of road where they fit them but better than having a wasted trip average fee around $50 total to... More

Had the best day skiing yesterday with my daughter! Easily drove up to this fun, charming ski resort from one of the beach cities in Orange County in less than two hours. Beautiful sunny warm day. Slopes were well groomed, staff very friendly and organized at the ski rental. (Mountain is actually bigger than it looks in the picture as... More

Snow Valley is a family fun place. They offer sledding on one side of the mountain along with an area where little kids can build snowmen and just play in the snow that is completely safe from the ski and snowboarding traffic. The runs are not that challenging and the mountain itself is much smaller than the other two resorts... More

Love this place! It's the same size (Ski-able acreage) as Snow Summit, 30-45 minutes closer, and much less corporate. Slide Peak is amazing, as is the back country. The front of the mountain also has nice solid runs for everybody - boarders and skiers of all levels. Everyone is always smiling, friendly and helpful. Lines can get long on popular... More

I like snow valley, its good if you have smaller kids. The resort is smaller than all others I've been to, like Snow Summit, Mt. High or Baldy, but they have a great little snow play area for sleds. It was a bit expensive when I went, maybe I was there during peak weekend, Im not sure.

I don't ski, but the lines to pick up online tickets, then rentals and then to start the children's lessons easily took two hours on MLK weekend, even with the help of hosts trying to make everything work. That said all of the employees were very nice and seemed to be trying hard. The beginner classes for kids did seem... More
